Halloween Ends: The Official Movie Novelization Mass Market Paperback – October 14, 2022

Spoilers ahead: Before watching Ends, I considered myself a Halloween-purist. After watching in theaters, the “shock” of Ends being so different than previous films quickly wore off and I was able to enjoy the film for what it was, and not what I expected it to be. The novel adds to the lore and gives readers details not seen in the film! The author (also a credited writer for the film) helps to fill gaps seen in the movie, such as the transfer of darkness, infection of the town, more examples of The Shape’s intrigue with reflections, and more Dr. Loomis flashbacks. I consider the explanations to be subtle, which as a purist I expect and appreciate. Give the novel a try, you might find a new appreciation for the movie!

If you are looking for this book to change your mind because you thoroughly hate the movie, save your time, money, and breath. For those intrigued or maybe feeling on the fence about the movie and you enjoy a fun read, the book is a good companion piece because it adds more layers to the characters and fills in holes (part plot, part emotions, part history). The way it was written was simple yet engaging like someone telling a story so it was quick to run through.BTW: The Untitled chapter was not an error because it was slapped together to rush the book to print. To me, it reads as if it’s coming from Laurie’s POV of writing chapter in her book which is untitled.

I wish this was the movie instead of the one we got. This isn't just a written copy of the movie. It adds so much more with more character development and context to the movie. I wasn't a big fan of the film, but this book is a different story. If you want to find out more and see more of Michael too, this is the book to get. I read it in a day, it's excellent.

I never knew there was books to "Halloween" I had only seen the movies as a child. However, here it is one of the books out of the whole series. He says it's better than the movie. Though I think the books may have been inspired by the movies lol. He loves them and that makes me happy.

I'll say: I hated Halloween Ends (the movie). It's the only one in the series I've ever seen that had nothing redeeming about it. How surprised I was to find that this book took a t*** and polished it right up!! Everything that has been added really fleshes out the story and makes for a much more satisfying conclusion to the latest trilogy. Highly recommend!

This book gave the context that the movie needed. I wish this book could be made into a movie or even miniseries so it could be truly enjoyed.

Got the d v d pretty fast in the mail and it was very good, so glad to add to my collection.
