Inexpensive tester, easy to use
I've had submersible deep well pumps for 40 years. My well pump sounded funny and quit. No water sucks and so does a $3,000 replacement cost. Turns out that after finding a loaner meter I found it had a bad starter capacitor. $15 and back in business!. Nnow I have my own easy to use meter. Makes me wonder if I had replaced previous well pumps when all I needed was a start or run capacitor. Who ever has a deep well pump with control box should check capacitors with this meter before panicking. Capacitors are inexpensive and do go bad. Jim

Good starter capacitor checker
I like that this only does capacitors. I don’t like the fact that if you have no idea what value capacitors you are checking that you have to keep turning the controller until there is a reading. Also, even though you choose the level of capacitor you are checking it would be nice if the screen displayed the value. Example: pF, mF, nF, MF,.

Good tester at good price.
This was an inexpensive tester but it works great. Tried several tests on various capacitors and it gave reading that were consisitent with the value of the capacitor. Came with a small screwdriver to open the cover and a good set of instructions. Also, test leads were long enough to facilitate use in tight locations. I would recommend this tester if you are seeking a cheaper unit that you will use occasionally.

Good so far
As an electrician and HVAC repairman, I need this device often. Recently, thanks to him, I discovered a non-working compressor in the AC outer unit, where there was only a slight decrease in the capacity of the compressor branch and no change for the fan, so apparently everything was fine, but the compressor was not working. The customer was happy because the big HVAC company told them that the fault is dificult to detect and they need to prepare several thousand dollars. This device made the repair a few bucks. I am really satisfied with this device.
