Oster 2 Slice Toaster, Brushed Stainless Steel (TSSTJC5BBK)

I love this toaster! I was hesitant after all the bad reviews but got a great price on it and decided to give it a try. It toasts both sides of the bread perfectly and evenly, something my old toaster never did. I have only used it for toast but the slots seem to be wide enough for bagels and English muffins. The cord is in a strange place but I just turn it sideways and there is no problem. The metal sides do not get hot, as one review stated, so even if the cord did touch it there would be no problem. I love the design of the toaster, looks great on my counter, does not take up any more room than my old one. I've only had the toaster for a few weeks but so far it is perfect, I would highly recommend it to anyone. I will update if there are any future problems.Update Nov.3,2013:Nearly one year later and I still love this toaster! Browns evenly on both sides, great pop-up button. Toasts bread and English muffins equally well.Update Aug. 10. 2016:Nearly four years and still going strong! Toasts evenly, works great. I'm buying my son one for his new apartment.Update Dec. 26, 2017:Five years and this toaster still works as well as the day I bought it. I bought one for my son a year ago and it's worked very well for him.

I have had my toaster for about a week and it is working well. Our previous model was also an Oster and it lasted a long time, so we wanted one again. The best thing about these toasters is that I can get dark toast without the toaster popping it up too soon. There is a dial with 7 settings, and I like 5 to 6, depending on the type of bread I use. This model seems a little better looking and a little easier to clean than my old one. I appreciate when companies try to make their products better. We have only used the Toast and Bagel settings, and they both work well. The only thing I would change about this toaster is where the cord comes out. It comes out on one of the long sides rather than at the back (I always face the controls to the front).

I've had this for quite sometime now and I really like it. No issues at all.

Used this morning, it’s going back. One side was burned the other side lightly toasted. We first set the light to dark dial to the middle. Burnt on one side. Okay, go down to one and same thing, not burnt on one side but darker then the other side of bread.Scratch this review. It wasn’t the toaster it was the bread. Used brioche bread that had too much butter inside one side which caused uneven toasting. I think the toaster would have worked perfectly with regular bread. I just gave it 5 stars.

This toaster works with both sliced bread and bagels, with settings for both plus a defrost function that I haven’t tried. It has an attractive chrome finish that fits well with most kitchens. The cord is in the middle of the side instead of on the end. I like that since I keep the toaster with the side facing the wall, so most of the cord is hidden. A good buy.

This toaster did exactly what we wanted. It was pretty perfect. The reason for 3 stars is that it now only toasts on one side, and, yes, it's been just 3 years, but products used to last much longer. Past the warranty, so we have to purchase another one.

My old toaster finally gave out and I replaced it with this one. I have only toasted English Muffins in it but so far seems fine. Stays cooler on the outside than my old toaster which is very nice. It looks good on the counter, no complaints.

I gave this one Star for the following reasons:1. The box had been opened and taped shut again. The interior plastic bag was tied closed with a knot. The tissue paper wrapping was wrinkled and torn, and just stuffed back around the toaster. The power cord was not folded and tied with the tie wrap, which I found loose in the tissue paper. There were smudges on the stainless steel exterior of the toaster. There were toast crumbs in the toaster. It had been used.2. The toaster is made of flimsy plastic and thin metal. The toaster does not weigh enough to stay in position on the counter when the lever is pressed down, or when the "cancel" button is pressed. It looks and feels cheap.3. For the price, the toaster should be of better quality.4. Very strong "hot plastic" smell when making toast.5. Made in China. Need I say more?I am keeping it until I find a good toaster, and then I am throwing it away. I need toast every day, and I have been without it for 2 weeks. I expect toast made well by a sturdy reliable toaster, just like my old toaster did for +30 years. I refuse to compromise.
