Cute and entertaining
My daughter got this for Christmas (almost 4) and she loves it. It can walk, sit, speak, eat. His head turns when you pet him and he actually walks pretty fast! Such a great gift for little kids who are really into pets.

Adorable, fun puppy! My 4 year old loves it!
My daughter loved her puppy she got for her birthday! She has wanted one of these for so long and she was thrilled to see this sweet dog. It is sturdy enough for her to have, she's 4, and it is still going strong 5 months later. She loves that she can walk the dog and that the dog sits and barks like a real dog. She likes that she can say commands and the dog will listen. It is a very adorable looking puppy too. There is a FurReal Friends app that I downloaded on my iPad and sheLoves that she can use that app that matches up with her puppy, we found this out from information on the box the puppy came in. I am glad I got this and will be buying more FurReal friends brand animals as gifts for my daughter in the future. Highly recommend this toy to any child ages 4 and up.

Cute toy!
My 7 year old daughter picked this out and bought it with money she received for her birthday. She LOVES it! It wasn't difficult to understand how to operate. She was able to get it working on her own without instruction or assistance. It works great and responds to the 'clapping' command perfectly - which thrilled her! I'm happy that her money wasn't wasted on another 'junky' toy. (I did help her do research and read up on reviews!) When the dog is walking it doesn't have a super loud mechanical sound as many other automated pets do. The noises this dog makes are cute and not annoying in any way. She's only every used it indoors, and it works great on our floors which are linoleum and berber style carpet. It really is a cute toy. I'd recommend it for any kid who loves toy pets.

get rechargable batteries!! But cute
Got this for my son who loves animals and is dying for another dog. We aren't ready yet so we got him this toy. It's cute, he's gotten hours of play time with it, we brought it to a pediatric appointment where I sat in the waiting room with it and other waiting kids kept sneaking close to me to look at the toy, I had kids leaning over the row of seats chewing in my ear to look at it, some kids who played with it before their appointment played with it again for a bit after it. This toy created joy and chaos for boys and girls!! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is it goes through batteries FAST, we just bought rechargeable ones for it (though of all the batteries we've tried 7-eleven batters have lasted the longest, go figure- haven't even put in the rechargeable yet) and it doesn't seem to come to you when you clap so maybe ours is broken. I wish it wasn't white because it goes on the floor and kids are surely all going to want to walk it outside and ours got dirty fast. But it's still cute and a favorite toy so it's still something I'd recommend.

Don't believe the ratings
There's no way this product should have a review higher than two stars. The high star reviews are either padded or were for a different product. The dog looks cute but that's about all. We couldn't get it to interact...it makes random noises and barks then returns to sleep mode. It constantly tips over while walking as the button only makes it go forward. My daughter was so excited to get this for Christmas after seeing it on tv but she lost interest after ten minutes since there is no interaction...even the walk button is poor as it only walks straight, constantly tips over when turning, and ends up being dragged around. My daughter plays with the amazon plush bear while this sits in the corner. Very bad toy. Don't believe the high ratings....look at the reviews of people who paid for it - avoid this one.

Best toy ever!
I got this for our granddaughter's fifth birthday. It was a huge hit and instantly became her favorite play thing. Even when it just sits by itself, it continues to make cute sounds and some movements. It's almost as if it's alive. As for the iOS iPad app. that some have criticized. Yes, there is an issue, but easily overcome. When you first install the app it will freeze, until you turn the volume sliders all the way up. The more you use the app the better it seems to work, especially as you learn how it works. Seeing our granddaughter virtually "feed" her puppy and watching the dog look like it's chewing, is funny. I can imagine the app limitations will someday seen boring but not yet after a month of play. Hopefully they will update the app with newer things to do. The pup itself is a wonderful toy.

for older kids and only walks on smooth surfaces
it's a cute item, fun to watch it walk, move around, make noises. it's soft and cozy. and thank goodness it has an OFF button, when you get spooked enough times of it suddenly starting to walk and move around after being left alone... ahaha However, my daughter is 3 and is NOT interested in it at all. She was getting frustrated while trying to figure out how to walk it, make it do things. The dog only walks forward and does not turn, a bit frustrating for a toddler to accept. Perhaps more like for a child who is 5 or older? another issue it will only walk on smooth floor, like hardwoods or tile, and not on carpet or outdoors etc... so the usage is limited. also, it is white. having a white toy walk on the floor for a child may not a good idea. but sure does look pretty :)
