Professional product.
I love these, thicker than polychromos and seem better when sharpened to a point with little breakage. The colours are not garish and subtle enough for me with animal wildlife art. I would purchase these again though I expect them to last me a while. Love them and highly recommend

Exquisite coloured pencils
Wow! What’s not to love about these? I’ve bought every kind of coloured pencil, cheap to expensive - these are my hands down favourite. They are so creamy and easy to use, hold a sharp point well, and produce beautiful art. I love the expensive wooden feel, too. Yes, they are pricey, but considering all the money I’ve spent on art materials that don’t get used, these are worth their price. The only down side, if there is one, is that I noticed I use the pencil up pretty quickly. A few sharpenings and they are greatly reduced in size, I guess that’s because they are so creamy that a lot of product does get used. If you love coloured pencils, try them, imho they’re worth the asking price. I bought 36 first, then bought 36 more. They will be my go-to pencils from now on.

FABULOUS! Especially for thicker paper colouring books
These oil-based pencils beat wax-based water colour pencils by a country mile. The colours are vivid, and incredibly easy to apply, blend, layer and manipulate. I am not a professional artist but really enjoy 'advanced' colouring books with thicker higher quality paper, such as those in the Kew Garden series or the delightful Mousgaard (see illustration) which resist water colour pencils. The ease of use cannot be over expressed. The effect achieved is like an Arthur Ransome illustration. These are expensive pencils but worth every penny.

Worth the money
Really nice quality, combined with electric pencil sharpener can get some great results.

Package should be better
Unfortunately, the poor quality of the package has influenced my review. The tin box is not rigid and the trays are flimsy. These pencils deserve a box fit to their quality and high cost. Having said that, although im not a Derwent fan, I really like these pencils. The colour range is great, not as bright and gory like others; the pencils are quite soft and easy to use. However, in my opinion Luminance remain the best.

Fantastic
I have just started using colouring pencils and bought this set to try out. Great selection of colours, they are very smooth and lay down pigment beautifully. Highly recommend.

Probably the Best in the World
An absolute joy to use - creamy, rich and luxurient. They are lightfast and of professional quality. they layer up amazingly well... with no wax bloom. Derwent have certainly made the perfect colour pencils. Recommended.

One of the best profesional pencils
I bought this tin of 24 for a test and I can say I'm really happy and satisfied, soon will invest more to buy the largest set of 100s. This particular set of 24 pencils is really great - it has a lot of skin/brownish/muted colours, thought as a lover of brighter colours I found it lacking more blues and greens, but it will be another challenge to try and use limited palitra, so not so bad as a choice. :) Derwent's Lighfast series came as a competitor against Caran D'ache Luminance and personally for me I think Derwent's are better. Great pencils quality - both wood and core are exquisite, can be sharpen to a very sharpy point without breakage and they are softer and creamier, easily blending compared to Luminance (from mine experience with Luminance), not to mention the lighfastness guarantee.

Gorgeous fade resistant pencils
How are these different? They are thick! Derwent's pencils in general are among the thickest pencils on the market. The wood is solid hard and sharpens beautifully. 1 of these pencils is equal to 4-6 prismacolor's in coverage

Beautiful pencils
These pencils are wonderful! They not only have beautiful pigment, but they are easy to sharpen with the Derwent pencil sharpener & I like the size of the barrel. Highly recommend!

Wow! The coverage and layering surpasses prismacolor!
This is such a great mix of primary colors. What do I mean by that? This assortment of colors will allow you to achieve many different colors by layering. I recommend using Arches hot press watercolor paper or strathmore colored pencil paper... I illustrated a complex novel cover illustration with this set and I didn't need too many extra colors. Skintones are easy to achieve with this set too. Extremely thick barrels. They sharpen beautifully. I use and M and R sharpener with replacement blades. It's kind of mind blowing at how much coverage 1 pencil gives. So superior to Prismacolor. I love this brand, polychromos and luminance. Derwent lightfast allows lots of layers. They have a slightly dry texture but they are amazing.. Perfectly paired with luminance and polychromos. I have the 100 set now but this is a great starter or sampler set.

Excellent of course.
I actually bought this set as a gift but they wanted something different. My review is based on my smaller set. They are excellent. I use them for colouring. As I don't sell artwork the lightfast ratings don't apply to me, but it's cool to think maybe my kids' kids might see my colouring some day. They blend well, layer well and lay down easily. They are more expensive , but worth it IMO. I'm very happy with them.
