Thin enough to line tight space, still reduces sound significantly.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Cost and form were right for my application.Ease of installation:Very easy to cut, peel and apply to surfaces. The 1”x1” grid on the peel-off backing was particularly helpful.Works well:I used it to reduce the noise of my dish washer by lining the walls and top of the under-counter space where the unit sits. I didn’t take before / after noise measurements, but the sound reduction is significant.

Overall good product
This product is designed to keep sound from traveling through it. That was not made very clear in the description. As such it did not fit my original intended purpose, but it did work for a purpose I didn't realize I had. Also the adhesive is very good quality.

Shrinks
Purchased this for sound equipment, once applied, it shrunk. Very adhesive though, which is nice but just wish it stayed in place.

This Fixed My Problem Instantly
I used this to put around the motor and part of the piping of my radon mitigation system to suppress the constant annoying hum I could hear in the room closest to it. This stuff did the trick. I can barely hear any sound from the motor now. I will have to wait and see how it lasts, but it did have an immediate effect. The adhesive was very sticky and adhered well to the motor housing and plastic pipes. I did take the precaution of putting on some electrical tape to hold it in place just in case the adhesive starts to loosen. If the material doesn't last, I will update my review, but for now the material couldn't be doing a better job. I would recommend this product and would buy it again if needed.

Cheap adhesive used, could be much better
I bought this to add to the sound deadening underneath my new double kitchen sink. I cut and installed the whole roll and within hours it was pulling away from the underside of both sinks. I cleaned both sinks with mineral spirits and let it dry completely before I attached this black foam roll. They need to improve the sticky adhesive that they use. I had to use regular duck take to hold it down. The duck tape is the only reason it’s still installed. Without the duck tape it would fall off. Will not buy again.

Cannot hear dog barking anymore
I live in a house rental in a decent neighborhood where the noise levels are generally quiet... except for the fact that one of my neighbors keeps their poor dogs outside most of the time. So those dogs yap a LOT at anything and everything.Since then, I have used a compressed airhorn to train them to stop barking due to their owners being lazy. That has worked really well, but when I am already in my upstairs bedroom - preparing to go to sleep - I can't run outside with the compressed airhorn and blast it in their dogs' faces while indecent - and blasting the compressed airhorn from my bedroom window is ineffective unless I go directly up to their fence to do it.So I purchased three of these products (not cheap, I know. But my sanity was on the line), and just stuck them as best I could inside of my bedroom's window frames, then used acoustic sealant to fill in the gaps.I'm now able to finally fall asleep and not get woken up in the middle of the night without even slightly hearing the dog barking. The acoustic sealant isn't very rent friendly, but we got to do what we have to do to protect our peace. *shrug*

Didn’t help reduce noise.
I bought these to put on the back of my front door in my condo. There are only a few units in my building and most of my neighbors are single adults, so it’s pretty quiet most of the time. And inside the units you barely notice other people live in the same building.. the problem isn’t being bothered by others noises, it’s that the front doors are like an open window to the hallways and as soon as you open and walk in the very front door of our building, you can hear everything if anything is going on inside a units. The sounds travels crystal clear even if you have tv or music playing at a low volume. It broadcasts your words .. so any one in the hallway can hear every bit of your private conversations.. it’s So quite inside the units, it’s easy to forget how easy the noise travels through the hallway, untilYou’re in the hallway and the neighbor is home just existing and you hear every little sound to remind you.I bought these thinking it would be a great idea to cover my door completely with the pads to block some of the noises from going into the hallway…. Well the 2 rolls weren’t enough to cover the entire door. Had To order another role. Then not even a week later our dog ripped up the entire bottom Half of the padding off… we started putting a Baby gate to keep him away from the front door if we left. Ordered more roll. reapplied more padding….It doesn’t keep any of the sound inside … IWent downstairs to get the mailAnd I could hear the tv. I left my phone playing a video and walked back in the hall, completely closed the door and had a door sweep installed… I hear it all. Perfectly.. it didn’t block any of the noise. Not one bit…This whole experiment was a complete waste of money and didn’t help fix my problem.. I wouldn’t buy any more of this for sound proofing purposes.
