I got this to have as a back up in case of emergency.We have been hearing about a lot of problems recently in other countries, so I think it is a good idea to have this sort of device in case of any emergency.I was really happy when it arrived to see that this is a very small unit - very easy to store! It reminded me a lot of my little battery transistor radio I used to have in the 1960s, and did bring back happy memories! It already had some charge when it arrived but I charged it up using the mains power so that it had a full charge before I started to test it. The little red light flashes when it is charging.First I tested the radio. Even without the antenna up the sounds is pretty good - crystal clear when you get it on the station (there is a little green light which comes on to tell you that it is tuned in. The torch is pretty good too - and certainly good enough for use in power cuts.If there is no mains power the unit can be charged up with the crank winder, and also via solar power, so it is certainly good to have these two options available in case the power is out.All in all, a very neat good quality device with a 12 month warranty, and not bad at all for around £20.

I brought this as a "you never know" back up and despite it's low price appears to be of good quality.It has 3 modes for charging, USB, Solar and wind-up, the radio whilst not Hi-Fi isn't too "tinny". The torch is reasonable and Led so should give a good battery life so overall well worth the money.

This is a very nice little radio / torch / alarm.Bought it for my allotment so sits in the sunshine in the shed charging .haven't had it on for long o hard to tell how long the charge keeps going on for .Good sound for such a little radio. Mainly listen to Radio 4 not music though
