Power rails were shorted out...but offered full refund
After building my circuit on the smaller breadboard, I connected a new Energiser 9v battery. The circuit didn't work, so after a minute or so I started probing around with my multimeter. As I did so, I touched the battery with my hand, and it was burning hot. I immediately disconnected it to check my wiring. It was wired correctly, but there was a dead short across the power rails.Opening up the breadboard revealed that the conductive strip of metal that should have been under the holes, was forced over the plastic dividing strip at one end, shorting it to the other strip.EDIT...updated to 5 stars, as seller generously offered a full refund. Good customer service.

Cheap and effective.
Bought during a sale period, so a proper bargain. Materials all seem robust and makes a great circuit test bed.

Good Breadboards, Bad Power Supply
Overall the breadboards seem to be well made and include enough jumper wires in various lengths to prototype some simple circuits. Having two sizes of board is useful as well. The power supply should've been a nice addition to the kit, but the one supplied with mine was faulty and didn't drop down the supply voltage correctly. A 9V supply was only dropped to 8.2V on what should've been a 5V output and 7.7V on the 3.3V output. Probably just a bad batch, but I'd definitely recommend testing the voltages before using the power supply in any circuit.
