Great bag!
I was looking for a roller bag for my scuba equipment. I already own a high sierra backpack and love it. This roller bag is no different. It feels very strudy with the zippers and the material. Handles are very nice as well. The telescope handle works well. I love the two compartments. I havent tested yet to see how well my scuba equipment will fit, but right now im packing for a long weekend and its fitting lots of stuff. I can see it may want to tip forward but for what i have it in it still can stand up right and not fall over. The color is perfect and just like the picture. Its not too heavy either. It appears to roll well. Wont really know until i get to rolling it outside with extra weight. All in all the bag seems to be what i need and great for the money. Hopfully for my scuba trip it will hold up to the airline abuse!

Rugged and roomy
I just returned from a three week trip during which time this bag was subjected to numerous baggage handlers and airplane cargo holds, not to mention being tossed into the trunk of numerous rental cars( sometimes on a daily basis). The bag performed perfectly. It shows very little ware and all zippers and latches still perform perfectly. As you can imagine, I had the bag absolutely stuffed with enough clothing for three weeks. The adjustable latched straps on the side took pressure off the lower compartment zipper, thus preventing the failure seen on other competitive bags.Although I had no issues with the wheels, I would like to see them upgraded to roller blade style wheels for quieter, smoother operation. I had issues with the bag wanting to roll on its side after going over a curb but since the wheels can only be about 12” apart that is a physics issue and not a design issue. After looking at perhaps dozens of suitcases, I am happy I chose this one. It’s strong, durable, and a terrific value. One negative point: there is a deep top zipper pocket that is somewhat useless. If the bag is truly packed (as mine was) there is no room inside for items to be put in the pocket. It can be used for small items such as passport, boarding pass or a bottle of aspirin. Then again if the main compartment is not completely full it might be big enough for a pair of shoes (ladies).

Big and roomy.
It's big and so far sturdy. I use it with the interior divider undone, so I can't commit on the use of the other zipper. The zippers though work easily that I'm using and the wheels seem good enough. I would like the big compartment flap to ideally be more flexible so it would lay back out of the way better, but if it holds up over time better than some part bags I've had it will be worth the aggravation. The handle could be a little longer. It will stand up on it's end of loaded with some heavier clothes.

Sweet and would highly recommend.
The media could not be loaded. Needed to replace my 20+ year old Wilson duffel bag which was beginning to unravel. Do note I wanted a true duffel bag--not a hybrid duffel/suitcase. A true duffel bag to me has a specific shape, takes minimal storage space when not in use, packs easily, has lots of compartments, is light and compact, water resistant and has a high cool factor. I studied every one I could find online ranging from $30 to $1,200 and chose the 28" High Siera Fairlead portable 28 inch as it had all the features I want, plus one bonus I didn't know existed.I had some trepidation as the price was much lower than the other ones I was seriously considering. However, the High Sierra arrived clearly well constructed, strong and the separate container at bottom keeps my cloths tightly packed and unwrinkled. The tie down straps in the bottom section are sweet. If I don't want to pack both compartments separately I just unzip the divider and have one large expanse of space. The one "gotcha" is that the video with the guy with the red duffel bag claims there are TWO end compartments -- one on each end -- but there is only ONE, and it is on the end with the retractible handle. Maybe the newer models were modified to allow the bag to better stand on end which some complained about, but to me standing on end is not something true duffel bags do well. Regardless, this one does a better job at this than my old one did.I especially like the strong material constructuon and the sturdy telescoping handle which gladly comes out much farther than the video shows. It wheels itself along very nicely and with good stability.I couldn't be happier with the High Sierra except maybe for that second external compartment I was expecting, but the one external compartment is much larger than expected and will suit my needs.Good job High Sierra!

High Hopes appears to be as well made as one I've had for years.
I've owned a High Sierra duffel bag on wheels for 15 to 20 years and needed a second suitcase. I was delighted to find that the company still makes them. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the same color I've had for years, which was a bit disappointing but not surprising given how old mine is. I like its size and how well it moves on its wheels. Specifically, I was looking for the compression straps that hold the suitcase/duffel bag together; in my mind, they make it stronger since I tend to overpack and stuff it full. There are two differences between my old one and the new model that I think they should have kept. The front pocket is easily three-quarters smaller than on my old one, and there is only one side pocket whereas my old one had two. I prefer having two pockets and a larger front pocket, and I hope they will reintroduce these features in the future. The new one is also heavier than my older one, but I'm not sure yet if that's a pro or a con; it's just an observation. It appears to be well made.I hope this new one is as good as my old one, and I'm super excited to put it to use.
