Their about 4” but if you need longer there are extensions to add another 4-5 inches.

how thick are the seperator plates?

The plates are thick enough to pull bearing in a 12 bolt GM rear end. I uses my bearing remover and it worked really good it’s worth the money.

You can get ahold of the manufacturer and see if they can be of any help. Most of them do sell replacement parts
