Installed in about 20 minutes
I just finished replacing the battery in my Model A1238, 160 Gb gen 6 Ipod with this kit. It was a success and I am currently listening to it. My recommendations to anyone considering this kit:1. If you haven't done this before, and as others have advised, watch multiple Youtube videos. They give a good sense of some critical items to keep in mind.2. Be careful of the small ribbon cables. They are very fragile and easily torn. Take note that on my model, the cable going to the on/off switch runs directly under the battery and could be damaged as you pry out the old battery.3. Get some metal "spudgers" to pry open the case. I found that the plastic ones are not sturdy enough.4. Have patience and go slowly when opening the case. The clips are surprisingly strong and resistant.5. If your fingers are like mine, you will need tweezers for reassembling the cables correctly.6. I can't advise on how long the new battery will last, as I just started using it. My guess is that it will last several years.

Ready to use, not very complicated
This was a lot more simple than I expected. Getting the case apart is the toughest part and the tools sent with the battery didn't necessarily hold up to well. But the battery is a perfect fit, (it came with adhesive on it) and my iPod started up right away once installed. It has been running well since the battery swap. One thing to be carefull of when changing the battery is, when removing the old battery, be aware that there is a thin ribbon wire under the battery. I wasn't aware of this and damaged that wire (though it works fine so I must have not severed the copper strands). Take your time removing the battery, only pry at the front and rock the battery from side to side to loosen the old adhesive. Works great and recommend it.

Easy to install but dead on arrival
Like the other reviewers stated, the plastic tools included were very brittle and useless. But once I got the ipod opened, the swap was easy. The battery that I received was dead on arrival though. So I still have a non-functioning ipod.

Great battery!
This has breathed new life into my iPOD Classic 80GB. Very long battery life. Very easy to install also.

Bring your own tools
The cheap plastic tools does not do the job for replacing the battery from an iPod classic. They are very brittle and break easily. You're better off using your own tools.Battery works fine. The adhesive is a nice bonus.

iPod replacement battery
Searched for the replacement battery, ordered the battery, opening the iPod took a little bit, but replacing the battery was easy, fit right in, charged up, now my iPod works great again. Battery was a good price, delivery was quick.

Works great for Gen 6 Ipod Classic 160Gb battery replacement
No problems with this replacement battery for Gen 6 Ipod Classic 160Gb. This is the second one I purchased because I needed another battery for the second Gen 6 Ipod I had. No problem installing. Adhesive was good but not like a foam based adhesive. It still works and there is really not any room for it move in the case. Do not let this stop you from purchasing a good replacement battery. Tools a fine for what you need. I have additional tools to help open the case but this had nothing to do with the battery.
