HDMI to RCA CONVERTERI don't usually write a lot of reviews, but in this case I know how much ambiguity and flat out fraud exists out there, specific to this particular type of signal conversion. This review is a little wordy but explains a lot, and so, tsince you're on this page, you're obviously looking for the same thing I was, and have probably encountered all the bizarre, poorly reviewed and potentially fraudulent items that pop up in a google search. Maybe take a few minutes and do a quick read thru. I promise this isn't a "planted review" from the company to boost sales , I don't work for them, or know anyone there, this is my first purchase from them ( but certainly not my last ). I'm just a regular guy that needed a gadget, found this one, and it does just what I need. As a skeptic and a pessimist, I am just particularly enthused to find simple intuitive engineering, good workmanship and customer service, and a reasonable price all together ( a diminishing concept these days ) and wanted to share my " research".I was looking for a way to convert a signal from HDMI to RCA. ( AKA phono connectors, Audio Video or A/V cables, Cinch connectors, component cables, composite cables, or "those old fashioned red yellow and white cables ").It's true that I want to take a high definition signal and essentially reduce it down to much lower definition old school analog signal but that's ecactly what I need for a particular purpose.When I started shopping around, the first thing I found were just cables with RCA plugs on one end and a single HDMI on the other, but along with those I came across several reviews from frustrated consumers on several different internet sources, decrying many of these as junk, ( not in their workmanship but the fact that they simply did not work, period). (Note, this manufacturer makes one which, based on the quality of the product I'm reviewing, no doubt has better tech and works, but probably just serves a purpose different from my need. )Anyway I started looking on Amazon figuring that they probably try to vet their purveyors somewhat, and probably don't allow "snake oil dealers" to sell their products here.I found this product, and when I saw it was an actual powered converter, that immediately added for me, some credibility to the product. Somewhere along the way I also saw something suggesting that the conversion was usually "unidirectional", begging the question, does this convert FROM hdmi TO rca, or FROM rca, TO hdmi. I hadn't considered that the converter might only do one or the other. It makes sense to me now, those are two distinctly different processes.So, I went to the " contact seller, or ask the seller a question" link ( another thing I like about Amazon ), and sent them a note with my question, and they responded right away, and provided me a link to a webpage/article, that not only answered my question, but further explained in simple terms how this process works. They've got all sorts of products but my specific interest was the one I'm one that I'm reviewing here, that converted FROM hdmi TO rca, clearly visible, stamped on the product, with a little arrow further confirming direction of travel, however , were I to need it instead, they also sell another device, ( not included OK, a separate thing altogether ) that converts FROM rca TO hdmi, clearly marked and "arrowed". As I said, it's a powered device ( theres obviously some kind of mechanism inside this little unit, about the size of an old zippo lighter, which needs its own power, as taking it from the "line" would probably diminish the signal. )It has a simple design - just plug the cables in, and the power cable, and there ya go-it's made of metal, not plastic, so it's not cheap and rattley. The box it came in is even good for storage , with a protective rubbery liner, so you don't have to just toss it in the gadget drawer when not in use, where it could get all banged up or get lost amongst all the other similar looking things.So there, thats my humble opinion. -K

I was able to take an hdmi output to an av composite, and then distribute the av signal to a coax converter. This allowed me to feed the coax signal to other tv sets. My goal was to output all smart tv media content to multiple tv sets. It was a perfect solution for me.

I bought multiple of these units, and one of them just quit working 2 months after I installed it.

Got this to replace a cheaper model made by someone else and I like it better already. Module feels sturdier and I can use my own RCA cables with it, and the picture quality is quite good from my Roku.My cats are also very pleased, because now I can watch TV in bed again. 😉

I purchased the unit in mid-February 2018, and it worked fine to provide the RCA type signal for my dvd recorder. Well, it failed this week, and I contacted Amazon to inquire about a replacement. Amazon told me to contact Rasfox directly, as their 30 day window had expired. So I looked up Rasfox.com and clicked on the contact us tab. I emailed them that the unit had failed and how do I go about obtaining a replacement. Judy told me that they would send a replacement, and I did NOT have to send them back the faulty unit. I received the new replacement converter unit today, and it appears to be fully functional. Yea! A company that backs up their product, with minimum bureaucracy! Well done Rasfox! Should I ever need an another type of converter, I will seek out Rasfox first!Well, the replacement unit went belly up this past March; even though I unplugged the unit after each use. I contacted RASFOX for another replacement, under the one year warranty; however, a person by the name of Peter informed me that because the warranty of the original (and faulty) unit expired (by one month no less), they (RASFOX) would NOT send me another replacement. Apparently these HDMI to RCA Converters simply can handle the generated heat. So beware of RASFOX. I will NEVER purchase anything with the RASFOX name on it.

The product worked but didn't meet my expectation. Yes it did convert HDMI 4K/3D video and audio to RCA AV input unfortunately the video was slightly blur and the audio was choppy and noisy, so I had to turn on close caption for audio clarity. I bought three of these Unit, two for immediate use and one as a backup. The product did save me from buying an updated HDMI audio/video amplifier because the current one we use is a direct support for my spouse's Karaoke set up. Other users of this Unit may have better results than I. I would still recommend it for thjose who need step down from HDMI to RCA

Ordered a couple of cheap hdmi2av converters and this is the first one that actually worked with my Sony PVM. Other converters kept only working in black and white.
