Read this before you buy!!!
To get this started, This kit is perfect for hobbyists and first time set builders. I'm righting this review because you NEED to buy some parts separately. That does not make this a bad kit, many kits do this. This is what you need to get to have this car working and driving.1. Servo, you need a 20kg servo (at the least)2. you need to have or get a controller and a receiver, what I recommend is the "radio link rc4gs v3" it has 5 fully custom cannels and fine tuning for everything.3. a battery, specifically a 7.2V battery, that's is the sweet spot. and get one that comes with a battery charger as well. Do not get a LIPO, get a lithium iron.4. This is a needed upgrade, don't use the stock "shocks" that come with the kit, get aftermarket oil filled coilovers. Now for stuff I highly recommend.1. paint, now while you don't need it it will make your car look better then an clear shell.2. locked differential, this will help if you want to go off-roading with it, or taking it on a drift course.3. upgraded all plastic parts like the steering rack, drive chain and GEARS!!Overall this kit is a great kit for anyone, the speed is great with lots of power if you get a good battery it will last you a long time, and the value of it is just great for quality. Since it is a hobby grade RC car you can buy replacement parts and upgrades. I really hopes this helps!

Absolute perfection
This is the first RC I've ever built, and this is a perfect first RC car!Followed the included assembly guid and everything went together without a hitch. I'm on a budget here so I bought the cheapest 25KG servo, receiver and transmitter, and sealed bearing TT-02 upgrade kit I could find. Drove perfect first try! Even tracks straight as an arrow.I went a different route with my paint job, because I can and I like a clean look. The power switch didn't fit in its home, but that's okay! They just so happen to send enough double-sided tape to secure the switch to the side of the chassis.. and I didn't want to use that plate anyhow, as I opted for a motor heating.

Amazing rc build and quality. My first time building a remote control car on this scale, sold me on building another.

You must buy the racing upgrades if you want to have control and speed!
The media could not be loaded. I really like this rc car, I have the 99 wrx shell on a tt02-r chassis, without any aluminum parts(bone stock) the rc is not so good, slow and not much speed, the torch tuned motor is good for short corse racing though, after adding a LOT of yeah racing parts, it’s a really fast rc, got it to about 35 mph on 2s lipo, really fun to build to, it comes like a model car kit and you build it piece by piece, really liked that, the downside is the plastic tub of a chassis is not very good for the screws for the car, be very careful about putting it together, don’t want to strip anything, all around a fun car, no ground clearance, so even grass stops the car🤣

Awesome kit
This rc car kit is a great starter kit, it comes with a pretty peppy brushed motor, a hobywing esc, very nice bodyOnly downside is you have to provide radio, servo and paint for the body also the shocks are not oil filled but easily upgradeable and the steering radius is not very tight.

Solid Entry Vehicle to RC
The Tamiya TT-02 is a great solid choice for getting into the RC hobby world. It comes as kit and needs to be completely assembled. Putting it together was enjoy and fun for me. If you ever put together a Gundam/Gunpala, the instructions are like that.Don't expect much from this kit though in terms of performance and fidelity. After I put mine together, it had a very hard time driving straight no matter the steering trim or use of a gyro. The aftermarket scene and parts for TT-02 is huge. You'll have no problem getting replacement parts or hop up aluminum parts. For me, I had to upgrade a few times for it to be enjoyable: Steering link, servo saver, bushing, aluminum drive shaft, CVD and shocks. After replacing all the stock options, you'll already at the price point of a more expensive RC kit that'll perform better.Overall, I do not regret my purchase and would recommend this RC for someone starting out slow and doesn't mind building it from the groud up.
