Q: Can it be used on a hose end sprayer?

Hose end sprayers introduce the possibility of contaminating the water supply due to back siphoning. For this reason, it is not suggested they be used for any poisonous or harmful chemicals (e.g. pesticides, fertilizers, soil conditioners, etc.). IF, however, you choose to use a hose end sprayer, be sure to attach a hose bib anti-siphon valve first. These are available at most home and garden centers for around $5-$10. They are also available here on Amazon.

Q: Please does this seriously work on spider mites this will be the 3rd product i buy...desperate!?!?

Don't know about spider mites, but it takes care of anything I've sprayed it on. I spray it on my fruit trees, garden vegatables, and any insects that get in the way of my sprays. I spray the yard and decorative shrubs. Seems to work.

Q: would this be a good product for killing mealy bugs on an orchid?

Malathion is safe for all orchids. I have used it for years on my orchids i.e. Cattleya, Dendrobium, Oncidium, Phalaenopsis and Vandas. My orchids are OLD and extremely vigorous! My approach to Cattleya Orchids- "Hard grow 'em". My Cattleya Mother Plants ,40-60 leaves, stay out doors to 38 degrees F. night time temps. Direct from the 'AMERICAN ORCHID SOCIETY': " Some of the more effective insecticides available to home growers are Orthene (wettable powder), Malathion (liquid), Diazinon (liquid) and Carbaryl (water-based emulsifiable concentrate). Always follow label directions and never exceed the minimum recommended concentration given in mixing directions. Orchids are tough, but sensitive to many chemicals. While certain species may not react to a given formulation, others might, so advance testing is advised.Never apply any liquid pest treatment in direct sunlight or high heat. To prevent burning of tissues, always shade plants until the solution dries."
