Switching to Elgato. I've had enough.
**********************************UPDATED REVIEW - 1 STAR - 5/3/2018Not more than a day after I wrote my initial review below, this card stopped cooperating with me. When it worked (rather briefly. I'm talking maybe 4 streams' worth), it worked rather well. Yesterday, while I was streaming on twitch, I switched to a new scene in Streamlabs OBS while streaming my Nintendo Switch (Breath of the Wild, to be specific). I took a short 2 minute break with a 'Be Right Back' scene playing in OBS. When I came back and went back over to my regular streaming scene, the video capture was frozen.I tried rebooting, shutting off my pc and letting it relax for a few minutes, then again overnight, unplugging and re-plugging the HDMI cords in the back of the switch dock and the capture card, but to no avail. The signal couldn't be found and without doing more tinkering than I'm willing to commit to, this card is now a brick in my computer.I am so frustrated, I took a long lunch at work today to drive to the nearest Fry's Electronics to get an Elgato HD60 Pro since they're sold out and overpriced on many popular sites online right now. Not sure why. Maybe because nobody else makes decent streaming capture cards anymore these days? Who knows. Avermedia had me as a customer after providing pretty solid performance with their 1080i DarkCrystal HD Capture Pro card, but this upgrade to the Live Gamer HD 2 has been a complete disaster. Elgato, show me what you've got. You win by default.**********************************ORIGINAL REVIEW - 4 STARS - 5/1/2018 - I'm hoping some of the information below will help some.I will dock this card 1 star for sub-par customer service. I've run into audio issues, like others, while trying to get this card to work while streaming on multiple platforms. I was able to solve the issue on my own, thankfully.Avermedia's customer service did reach out to me to help solve my issue a day after I contacted them, which was great. They asked me for screenshots of my windows audio recording devices and their RECentral software to help sort out problems. It's already been two days and I still haven't received a follow-up response to my e-mail. Am I expecting too much? I don't know. But given that I am on a timer as far as returning my card to amazon is concerned, I needed answers as fast as possible.I decided to take matters into my own hands. The first issue I noticed in Windows was that I was getting no sound whatsoever from RECentral. By default, the Live Gamer HD 2 set my recording device to Line In, which I believe are representative of the analog plugs on the card. After investigating, I noticed the digital audio setting for the Live Gamer HD 2 in devices was disabled, so I had to fool with my recording devices for a bit (enabling and disabling devices). The reason why I had to do this is that Windows wouldn't let me right click the digital device and enable it. I can't perfectly reproduce how I eventually got the digital device to become the default recording device, but I was able to get it to work eventually. Make sure you have that digital device enabled in windows recording devices, otherwise you won't hear any sound coming from your new card! Now for the second infuriating issue. This, as far as I know, isn't related to the card itself, but I have a suspicion that it still is - indirectly. I noticed in my twitch streams that people were hearing a slight echo in my voice and the video capture. I checked high and low inside RECentral and Windows recording devices. Nothing seemed out of place. After sleeping on it, I opened up Streamlabs OBS and started digging into settings in there. Sure enough, at the bottom right hand corner (and I never knew this), I scrolled down to find that there were many more recording options in my list of devices than I had before. Essentially what was going on was that my microphone and stereo mix were duplicated and broadcasting all at the same time. I muted one set of duplicates and boom...problem solved. So if you get this card, make sure you not only check Windows recording devices, but that you also look into your streaming app's settings if you get that annoying echo. I hope this helps! In the end, the $140 I paid for this card at the time seems like a bargain when compared to $200-$300 for the Elgato HD60 Pro. As long as you're willing to work through some technical issues, I see nothing wrong with this card.

Updated to four stars after one star review *New Update
New Update*: Initiated a return on this item as it cannot fit the needs of my expectations. This capture card apparently does not allow you to game at 1440p and record at 1080p. This is not the companies or products fault. It has more to do with my lack of knowledge on streaming/capturing. If you are new to streaming/recording and you have a 1440p monitor or higher this will not work for you. Gaming will be forced at 1080 unless you disconnect the card. Purchase a card that does 1440p and up to fit your needs. For 1080p this card worked just fine and as such my original review remains the same.Updated Review: So far it works. I tried using RecCenter4 which is the software for it as well as OBS third party software and both seem to work just fine. I can't really provide technical details since I don't know what im doing in relation to streaming or recording. Recorded a few 1080p game play vids that ran pretty smoothly and did not affect my game play during the recording session. Also liked the features RecCenter 4 provides just need to learn how to use it more efficiently. Overall: The install is very easy, plug the card in, connect the HDMI cord and you're all set. Very little if any impact to game play while capturing recorded video. Hopefully the card lasts long.Original review: I cant really review it since I think mines was DOA. Tried three different pcie slots and the card would not power on. Tried on another pc and it caused a system crash. My system specs:Windows 10Ryzen 7 3700xAsrock b550 phantom gaming 4Gtx 1080 g132gb ddr4

No audio, sent back 4 El Gato
I purchased this with the intent of creating some new content for my YouTube brand as well as do some live streaming content of older video games as well as games that do not currently have videos. When the product arrived the box only had two bubbles for shipping protection and there was a lot of play in the box. Luckily both of the items I ordered had their own internal packaging to prevent any damage. I spent close to 7 hours troubleshooting this product to be able to get it to work during that time I had suffered several video crashes several issues where it said that the device was already in use however it was not. I also ran into issues where it said that the video that I was trying to record was protected. Going over the website support I have found that several people have been running into issues with this specific card however I could not find a way to get the audio to stream through the pass through. My system specifications are as follows I am using a FX 9590 processor I am using 2 Aorus waterforce extreme 1080ti video cards and a gigabytes motherboard I'm not sure of the model. I updated all of my drivers did my operating system Windows updates installed the rec center for the software and I was still unable to get audio to come across the card that I got. I would say that this card has great video quality and very low latency howeverbased on the support tickets that I have seen the support for this product is not good and could definitely benefit from my little more customer service. I was sad to have to return this product however time is money and the amount of time that I have wasted on trying to get this product to work is worth way more than the product.. even when changing the audio output from Dolby two other audio formats this device was not able to capture or pass through the audio.
