I was looking for something old fashioned and French. I found these they are lovely 😍 I love the simple floral design and the way they are made.

These are not very well glazed .

I ordered the square salad plates for review mainly because my wife was intrigued by the shape; we don’t have any other square crockery.The set arrived well packaged, in a strong box with foam between each plate to protect them in transit.Each bowl has a delicate, understated pattern of various blue flowers and foliage all round the rim. The bowl in the middle is a really good size and depth for salads, which is what the bowls are intended for; however, they would also work for pasta, soup, or even a pudding; because of the high sides, you can add custard without it coming over the top of the bowl, and it would cool down quickly as there is a large surface area. They would also be ideal as serving bowls and for snacks; they would be good at Christmas for chocolates, nuts, etc.so many different uses.As they are made of porcelain, and are quite strong and sturdy, they should last for a long time. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. As they are square, they can be stored in cupboards without wasting any space.My wife loves the design, and is thinking about buying more items from the range. The only drawback is the cost, as £28 is a bit expensive for four plates of this size.

We ordered the 7.4 inch square salad plates from the selection available, which arrived very securely packaged in their presentation box, with a polystyrene block holding the stacked plates firmly together, and individual padding sheets between each plate to prevent any damage during transit. With that in mind, if you are considering buying these as a gift, and want to check them beforehand, it will most likely be a bit of a nightmare trying to get the plates back in the box afterwards, because they really are tightly packed, and we had to split the box open to get them out.Nevertheless, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the porcelain, and in particular, the delightful blue floral pattern around the rim of each plate. Considering that 'fanquare' is a relatively unknown brand within the UK, the manufacturing quality does stand out to a certain extent with the product that we chose, but a price of £27.99 at the time of ordering seems more than a little expensive for what is essentially a set of four small plates. Having said that, if the prices for the products in the range reduce to something more wallet friendly (or any offers show up), the plates and bowls could then be considered as really good value for money, as opposed to currently being moderately overpriced dinnerware.

Who doesn’t always need a few more bowls?Not me, I’m always needing a few extra.These are nicely made and have a great pattern on them. They came well packaged and not a single one was damaged in shipping.They clean nicely in the sink, but I can’t say about a dishwasher as ours isn’t working.But these are really nice bowls.

I am in love with these plates. They are white with pretty blue floral patterns. I ordered the round salad plates because they looked deeper and could hold more food. The real products in person look as great as they are in the images. They are a bit thin and fragile so I handle them with care. They look amazing with any type of food in it and become my favourites.

I love these salad plates, very nice pattern, good quality and perfect size. I will be buying more to complete the set
