I've installed several water filter housings over the years and have never had this issue. The O ring does not make a good seal. It doesn't matter how tight I make it. Now I have to replace the housing which is extremely inconvenient.Edit: the company reached out and offered a full refund. My old filter housing cracked at the 3/4 bsp port due to the plastic threads (no brass threaded insert) while changing the filter. This unit appears to be more solid in design and a straight forward replacment from my old unit even down to using the old mounting bracket made out of metal. Not sure how long the plastic mounting bracket with the new housing would have lasted. Its been up and running some months with no leaks happy person.

I like that it is small and powerful,I used it for a window hung EVAP cooler pump. Works great!
