Great Cold Storage Forklift Driving Gloves
These gloves are fantastic for those interested in a glove that will keep you warm in a cold location that requires you to drive for the majority of the time. I've tried other gloves but after a an hour of driving a forklift in the freezer my hands would get uncomfortably cold. This is also the first gauntlet style glove I have used and I got to say the the cuff fitting over your coat is better than it going inside. It has a a strap on the cuff that can stretch over your coat sleeve so it seals it well. The first real problem with other gloves is that while they might keep you hands warm, they are very bulky and messes with your dexterity when driving a forklift which has touchy steering wheel. These provide plenty of insulation without sacrificing finesse. From time to time I might have to handle boxes to move them to a different pallet but they have good enough grip and barely enough room to fit my hands inside gripping handles, which frankly most thick insulative gloves aren't the best choice for handling boxes. For my purpose driving with excellent control and warmth were my main reasons. They work great and at last my search for the best driving freezer gloves end here. Snowmobile gloves > actual intended freezer gloves. ;)

Really Warm, but Bulky
Summary: I researched over twenty pairs of winter snowmobile/moto gloves before buying these. They have the most insulation on the front and back of the hand of any gloves I could find. They are very warm, but also very bulky, resulting in some difficulty manipulating controls.Pros:- Extremely warm- Longer length affords more coverage for wrists- Drawstring at wrist closes off cuff, protecting from wind drafts- Built-in visor wiper- Good grip texturingCons:- Very bulky- Pricey- Difficult to pull on and get adjustedFull Review:I bought these gloves for use on a motorcycle, knowing that they were designed to be snowmobile gloves. I live in Colorado, and use a motorcycle to commute to work (about 1.5 hours one way). If it's not snowing or iced, I'm riding. This led me to require cold weather gear that doesn't compromise, and can hold up to daily use in rough conditions.I settled on these gloves after creating an Excel spreadsheet comparing the insulation weights of over twenty pairs of gloves from various manufacturers, and discovering that these gloves exceed the insulation of the competition by a large margin. They're listed as having 300g of insulation on the back of the hand, and 250g on the palm. The closest competition has just 200g (back) and 70g (palm).I wear size XL in gloves, and unboxing these gloves was like unboxing a new pair of boots - the box containing the gloves was enormous. The gloves inside the box were similarly huge, and felt more like hockey mitts than riding gloves. The gloves are constructed well, with very thick leather and canvas. In my 70F house, pulling the left glove on had my hand sweating after just a few moments. The cuff extends just past mid-forearm for me, well enough to fully cover my jacket sleeve, and has a strap near the wrist as well as a drawstring farther up the cuff to shut out any wind ingress. Pulling the right glove on with my already-gloved left hand revealed the first issue with these gloves: the bulky insulation results in a very difficult time manipulating anything. Despite having separate fingers, these function far more like mittens than gloves, as any task requiring individual finger usage may as well be abandoned. On the test ride, the temperature was approximately 19F, clear and dry. I rode for 1.5 hours. At speeds of up to about 50mph, cold was imperceptible. In fact, I began to worry that my hands would sweat too much. Using the brake and clutch levers was doable, but I felt clumsy and the lack of feeling through the thick insulation on the undersides of the fingers resulted in some unintentionally abrupt braking and acceleration. As I merged onto the freeway and accelerated up to 75mph, one of the drawstrings came untucked from the cuff of the glove, and began to whip against my forearm. Through the jacket, I didn't feel it, but I could hear it. Be sure to tuck these in firmly before you ride! After about 20 minutes at 75mph, the cold began to seep through the fingers of the gloves as the wind defeated the windproofing. After another hour, my fingers were numb. Everything has a limit, and I had discovered the limit to these gloves. As I noted in the introduction to this review, the gloves are marketed as snowmobile gloves, and function excellently at those speeds. However, pushing them up to freeway speeds reveals their design limitations. The windproofing is simply not designed for sustained speeds that high. These gloves work really well for prolonged offroad use, or lower-speed on-road usage. Their insulation is a double edged sword, affording excellent heat retention, while making dexterous tasks extremely difficult.
