Epson 252 ink, especially the black ink, is too expensive but works better than the off-brand ink refills. So it is necessary to get good quality printouts. I will be considering a different brand printer in the near future.

I tried generic refilled ink cartridges that clogged up the printer so badly that I thought I'd have to replace it. Instead I tried the real, real Epson ink cartridge and the ink jets eventually cleared. I learned my lesson. That said, I think it's too bad that no-name cartridges don't work . . . for whatever reason . . . when branded cartridges are so expensive. Seriously, it's just ink!

Easy installation and good quality.

I bought two ink cartridges at separate times. The first one worked installed great and printed very well. After the first one was nearly depleted, I bought the second one. The second cartridge would not print any black ink at all. The printer read the black ink levels as maximum, but during test prints and any black/greyscale prints, no black ink would dispense. It seems to me that the ink cartridge itself was a dud. This was an unforunate and exhausting event.However despite getting a dud, I will buy another one from amazon because the price is reasonable and it did work in the past. Hopefully I do not get another dud.If my review was solely based off my first cartridge purchase, I would recommend this product and give it 5 stars. It worked great and printed great. I give this a 3 star rating because of my experience with the second cartridge I purchased.
