is this near infrared heat?

The seller sent me a bulb that was NOT made by Pyramid. TWICE. The best bulb of this type on the market is made by RUBYLUX. It is expensive, but most all others are made with a red coating that is toxic, or a teflon anti shatter coating that is toxic. Toxic meaning the extreme heat of the 250 Watt bulb causes off gassing. good luck.

Can bulb be used for tanning

I put this in my ceiling over my shower and it cuts off after about 10 minutes, is it supposed to do that or is that a bad sign like it's overheating?

if installed in a recess can there are thermal cut offs inside tp prevent overheating and or a potential fire hazard.

How close can this be to the wall? I have it in a pendent about 1 in from the wall and the wall is very very warm!

It’s a heat lamp for animals. So I would not put it close to the wall with out having a insert frame around it. Like insert lights in a ceiling
