Good and secure
Recently purchased a new vehicle with a spare tire in the back of the vehicle. Heard people steal those and was worried so ran to Amazon to purchase this!!! Good price point and very secure. It doesn’t look to bulky, but if your worried then order a tire cover to place over it. Very functional.

Fits 2004 Honda CR-V, but not as intended
The intended use is to put it through the lug nut hole. However, with the way the spare tire mounts on a 2004 Honda CRV this is not possible as the open lug nut holes are blocked by the mounting bracket. Here is how I was able to get it to work without a bunch of slack cable so it fits nice and tight. With the tire off you can see at the side of the bracket near the top there is just enough room to slip the cable through. Start on left side and thread behind top of left side slit over to behind top right side slit coming out and pulling out so even amount of cable is hanging out of left an right side slits. Now put tire on bracket pushing it flush against bracket. (You may have to put lug nuts on to hold it flush). I have the alloy wheel. I took the left cable and pulled it through the thinner gap in wheel spokes - there is just enough room to get it through. Do the same thing on the right side. Now join the two in the middle and lock it. It will be tight, but it can be done. If for some reason there was not enough slack you could either pull it through the left side of bracket only or work something out with top or bottom holes in bracket. You would probably just have a little more slack in the cable. The other option would be to drill a hole through the bracket where a open lug nut hole lines up and make the hole the same size.I believe this lock will work nicely.

So far so good
Using this on my 03 Mitsubishi montero. It’s been on my car for about a year now and is still holding up. It’s still in great shape, no wear and tear. The install is very simple. The thickness of the cord is pretty good.

Excellent Build Quality - Will Reduce Temptation to Steal
Recognizing that NOTHING will stop a committed effort, bought this for the exact purpose to discourage or make it harder for a casual thief to steal the spare tire/wheel off my boat trailer.Very good build quality, looks durable.Just long enough....does the trick!Wish it came w/3 keys, but 2 is enough.Would buy again!

Looks like a pretty good lock
I thought I'd try something different than the standard stud.Lock for the spare on my trailer. I like the fact that it's more visible, so it might discourage someone from even thinking about taking the spare

Great spare tire lock
The trailer had a plate that held the spare tire. One more 1/2" chamfered hole allowed this lock to be installed. Hopefully it will hold up to salt spray. The circular key has good security but prevents easy duplication so don't loose them.

Spare Tire Theft
Yes, it’s on the rise with all thefts. Lug nut locks only slow down a thief just like this cable lock. Big enough bolt cutters would work on this as well. I believe though that this cable is better at slowing down a thief. Better yet, put that tire in a locked storage area. Out of sight, out of mind. Good value for your money.
