Good Quality Coals
This lump charcoal is great, it lasts for ages as some of the pieces are huge and burn to ember for a long time. I had a test run bbq with and lit these coals at 3PM, they were still burning hot at 11PM, they do not produce a lot of smoke and they break down into ash nicely. Well worth it for the price.

Huge chunks, best charcoal I've used
Absolutely pukka charcoal. Amazing flavour, lights quickly and biggest chunks of charcoal I have ever used. Better than kamadoe jo big block! Perfect for masterbuilt gravity series.

Good value!
I normally use KJ Big Block but chose the Masterbuilt for a quicker delivery as plans happened upon us. I am very happy with the choice! Lit easily. Didn't spark. Held constant temps. Maybe burned a little quicker than KJ, but not by much, still used my normal amount and easily held temps to do two pork shoulders.

Great for a Masterbuilt Gravity 800 series
After trying a few different Lumpwoods and Briquettes I keep coming back to these. You do get some spltting from them, but they are generally better than the Briquettes, they heat up quickly and last well. Although they are expensive your Materbuilt deserves the best!

Perfect for the Masterbuilt Gravity Range
I have a Masterbuilt Gravity 800 series and this lump charcoal is perfect. Last a long time, gives off great heat and adds a smoke flavour. It is also re-usable so you don't have to keep emptying the funnel which is the biggest plus point. Highly recommended.

Not suitable for a Kamado-style BBQ.
This stuff is really weird. For untreated lumpwood charcoal it burns VERY energetically, popping and spitting, coating everything in a fine ash. It seems to be fine on a low temp burn around 130C, but reverse searing? Forget it... unless you want your food covered in a fine coating of ash and your clothing pock-marked from hot embers.I have a Big Green Egg, this stuff made an right mess of the surrounding area. Not recommended for anything above 150C.

Good but expensive
Good sized lumps, burns well, flavour is good. But it is expensive, at 7kg for this amount. Big k is about half the price, assuming you go for a decent grade via their website (avoid red bagged bigk from stores!). I'm happy, this product does what it should. Finding good lump is surprisingly difficult these days. Attached a a photo with naff bigk red next to this, for comparison, in the same tub. You can see the difference in size!
