Awesome backpack accessory
I'm a mountain biker and I've been struggling on how to carry my phone on rides. For years I was putting it inside my hydration pack but it's a pain to get the phone if I need to take a quick picture for a trail report or to look at a trail map on a trail I've never been on before. Also, with the ice in the water reservoir it would cause condensation all over the phone. I then tried using a SPIbelt that I used to use for running but the phone felt vulnerable and, sure enough, I had a crash and landed right on the phone breaking the screen. I started searching around for a holder that would attach to the strap of my pack where the phone would be the least vulnerable and easy to access and I came across this gem. I've been using it for three weeks now and it's been fantastic. The phone is easy to access, very protected from crashes and debris (mud, water), and I do not notice it at all while riding. I thought that possibly the phone would bob around while riding over rough terrain (rock / root gardens), but there has been absolutely no issues at all. I also worried that it might not fit on the short straps of my small hydration pack (2 liters) but it fits with no problem. I also have to give a big thanks to the seller of this item as they included a second plastic clip to fasten the bottom of the pocket to the backpack strap. Without that I definitely would have had to find a way to secure the bottom because it would definitely flop around with no bottom clip. My phone is a OnePlus 7 Pro which is one of the larger and heavier phones out right now so I would think this pocket could hold any phone on the market as of this review. My phone dimensions are 6.40 x 2.99 x 0.35 inches (162.6 x 76 x 8.8 mm) and it weighs 7.27 oz (206 g).

Best Pre-Vacation Purchase
I bought this to use on vacation because I wanted a secure, easy-to-access place for my phone. I knew I'd be using it a lot for directions, music, looking up restaurants, etc. and I didn't want to be digging in my backpack constantly. It was the best thing I bought for the trip. Used the velcro straps to attach it to the arm strap of my bag so it sat right on the front of my shoulder. Perfect.

Too Much Velcro
This is a great product, except it has entirely too much Velcro on it. Case in point: I was hiking at Isle Royale NP, and what appears right in front of me? A moose and her calf! I quietly reached for my iPhone, but the moment was ruined when I had to pull apart the very loud Velcro. Mom and baby took off running. A quarter-inch strip of Velcro would be sufficient! I’m pretty decent at sewing, so I’m going to use a seam ripper to take off the existing Velcro patches and then cut the flap off. I’ll surge the raw edge. My phone fits securely enough that I don’t need the flap at all.

Loving this!
I bought this to replace an old cellphone strap pack that was sort of falling apart and have been very impressed with it after a few long hikes. The clip (a free "low profile" clip) clamps right onto my day-pack strap and holds firmly. I can't feel it there at all - out of the way of my arms and doesn't dig into my chest at all. The Medium is the perfect size for my Pixel 3a - the velcro closing keeps my phone secure (but not difficult to retrieve when I want it) and the slight firmness that the case has feels protective as well. I've recommended this to my hiking pals already - much better than stowing my phone in my pants pocket or in my pack where I can't reach it to take pictures.

Need somethings softer and more flexible
Great idea, not great execution. sturdy but very bulky. I have a backpack that has a neoprene (or something like that) slip pocket with a zipper pocket in front of the slip pocket, on the strap. I love it! BUT the backpack does not have pockets inside, has lots of pulleys and straps and no laptop sleeve....so not a very functional backpack for my needs. I am looking for something that can clip or velcro to the strap of a more functional (overall) backpack to keep my phone (and maybe sunglasses) easily accessible. It seems pretty easy to do! But apparently not because my search continues. This one fits my phone and is very sturdy with rugged velcro to keep things save. It is just stiff and bulky but the worst part for me is the hard plastic clip the connects it to the strap. I see what they did and why, but the plastic part bumps my clavicle uncomfortably. The only place it seems to be OK, is if I slide it all the way down to the bottom of the strap, past my hip bone. I don't know if my arm swing or hip would be a problem on a longer hike, as I have only tried to use it at the airport so far. Probably will keep it, as it wasn't too pricey and I don't have anything better yet.

Fits perfect and works great
The holder is just as shown, my phone fits perfectly. The only thing I wish it had was a hole in the center on the bottom for the charging/headphone cable to plug in. I cut out out a little square with a razor and melted the cut edges to make a little port right where I wanted, now it is just what I needed.

Perfect
I've been looking for an easy way to access my phone during long hikes and this solution is perfect. It fits over my packs with wide straps and the velcro enclosure allows both easy access without struggling with buckles, etc., and is also very secure. I don't have any concerns about losing the phone. Fits a Samsung 22 like a glove.

Great for Google Pixel 3 / Bike commuting
This has been working really well for bike commuting. I previously had my phone in a back pocket of my backpack that kept it out of weather but inaccessible without a lot of trouble. This pocket has some really sturdy clips to attach to a thick padded shoulder strap, and the full flap is velcro so I'm never worried about how secure the phone is. While it isn't totally weatherproof I have not had any concerns about being out in the rain, and it has helped me notice urgent family messages while riding to work and also get to my camera very quickly when needed. Exactly what I was looking for.
