Healthy poop!
These probiotics are great! My cat has IBD so I sprinkle this lightly on his food and it gives him healthy, firm stools. He is full of energy and joy. I have tried many other probiotics for him but these are the best.VetriScience, please never change it or add unnecessary harmful ingredients and you have a customer for life.

Help with hairballs, nice for multi pet households
I have been giving these for about 3 weeks to an ibs cat and a cat with hairballs. I like that they are for cats and dogs, so I can give them to my dogs for antibiotic courses too. The ibs cat hasn’t really improved but hasn’t gotten worse so I can’t complain. The hairball cat has really been doing well, he has long hair and doesn’t like to be brushed, so he gets frequent hairballs and also is prone to the scarf-n-barf (probably due to the hairball brewing in his stomach). There have been no hairballs and I scarf-n-barfs and I’m even feeding him larger volumes than I would with water added to mix in the probiotic. Both cats readily eat the probiotic, I add it to their food (wet or kibble) and add some water to mix it in. This will be a long term supplement for both.

It Works For My Dog!
Note That This Is In Capsule Form!!I adopted a young dog from the animal shelter 6 weeks ago, and the poor thing had constant loose stools/diarrhea despite all my efforts. I used several rounds of cooked rice and chicken blended in the blender with only temporary success.I have purchased 3 types of probiotics to experiment with here on Amazon, and this is the first to be tested. Within 24 hours he was much improved. It has been a week now, and although his stools are not totally solid/dry, they are much better. He has some skin irritations which have not changed with the use of this product, but perhaps that condition will improve with time. The capsule form is messy to give him in peanut butter, and his appetite is inconsistent, ie: he may or may not finish a certain amount of food he is given at any one time. A powdered form of probiotic sprinkled onto his food might lead to inconsistent administration of the "good stuff" unless I mixed it into a small amount of soft food first. I simply press two capsules into a teaspoon of peanut butter and he swallows it all whole. Of course, Pill Pockets would work too.UPDATE #1: Use caution when handling this product--It looks like any other white capsule. I take an almost identical probiotic myself, and this morning I mixed them up and mistakenly took the VertriScience! This afternoon I found myself in the middle of the street licking myself and a car came around the corner and almost hit me!Update #2I purchased 3 probiotics from Amazon for my dogs [3 pooches; 2 with moderate to severe diarrhea]:VetriScience Laboratories Mega ProbioticDoggone Best Products ProbioticsNucleOtics ProbioticsVertiScience made a definite improvement, but the capsules were difficult as one of my dogs will spit them out or did not eat them if mixed in the food. Pill Pockets are expensive, and peanut butter is messy. The other option is to open them up and sprinkle the contents on the food. But why then have a capsule, which is an extra cost?Next I used the Doggone Best, which is a loose powder. The digestive health continued without change. I only used about 2/3 of the 8 ounce jar before experimenting with NucleOtics.NucleOtics has a lot of yeast, and is only 2.12 ounces. Again, a loose powder with a tiny scoop. The loose stools returned, but not bad as before starting, but bad enough that I went back to The Doggone Best.My conclusion is that Doggone Best is the choice for me, although VetriScience is a good product.. Doggone offers good value for an effective product. The drawback is the scoops in Doggone and NucleOtics are tiny—easily lost in the jar, and a lot of powder ends up on one’s hands. I suggest that you get an idea of how much product is right for your dog—using the scoops provided a few times, then toss them and simply sprinkle the powder on the food. Adding some water or canned food to kibble will help it stick and be consumed by your dog[s].Overall, mark me a big believer in probiotics for dogs!

Her poop was fine, this is just in case
Summary:Reason for use? Seasonal allergy/gut support.Does it work? No way for me to know. Will I keep using it? Probably, just in case it does work.Do I recommend it? It’s worth a try.I bought this as part of an allergy treatment since there’s been a lot of discoveries about how the gut impacts the rest of the body (in humans anyway). My dog had nasty hot spots and eventually was on an Rx medication from the vet. I decided to try some herbal products and this probiotic in an attempt to support her system and get the itching under control. Eventually took her off the Rx and herbal supplements but kept her on this probiotic. (I still have no idea if the supplements/meds helped “cure” her or if enough time passed that the seasonal allergen wasn’t around anymore but the itching was less with the meds)My dog never had digestive issues (no gas problems or diarrhea) and her poop was always fine/consistent, so adding this didn’t change it that much. For <$30 I get 2 months worth of pills. If I place it on top of her food she eats it without fuss. Sometimes I’ll open it and sprinkle the contents on her food, but I don’t have to. She has only spit the pills out a few times. I’d imagine it has a neutral flavor based on the nonexistent smell. For the price I’m happy to keep giving it to my dog on the chance that it helps.

Doggie digestive relief at last!
My boyfriend and I adopted a rescue dog nine months ago, and his eliminations have been of sub-par consistency since day 1. We initially thought he must just have a sensitive digestive system (the vet did a fecal analysis and everything was normal) so we almost immediately weaned him off the corn-laden standard kibble and put him on better quality grain free food in the hopes that his situation would improve. After several months of trying different brands, we finally ended up with Nutro limited ingredient, which he loves, but still no improvement. It finally hit me that the antibiotics he was on for his first few weeks with us for a dermatitis infection may have done a number on his gut, so I shopped around for a probiotic and ultimately chose this one due to the great reviews. After just a couple of weeks of giving it to him 2x per day, we're finally starting to see a difference! I'm so glad I found these!Update: We're going on a month and it's seriously like he's a completely different dog! Not only does he no longer have loose stools, but I've noticed a disappearance of other GI symptoms as well. His stomach used to gurgle really loudly most mornings, and right before we started him on the probiotic, we noticed that he was also trying to eat grass every morning. That has all stopped. He's also less gassy and that subtle fishy smell is gone. I wish I could give these 10 stars because they are a life saver.
