These are perfect. Here are tips.
I purchased all three sizes, and they are great! I so far have used the small and medium sizes for loose tea. I haven't used the large ones, but they appear to be of the same quality as the smaller bags. If you want to use these for gifts, be aware that the fabric is very thin, so you can pretty easily see what is in the bag. However, if you are using the bags to store things, that's a bonus because you can see what's in the bag without having to open it.To address some of the concerns of other reviewers:I haven't had any difficulty cleaning the bags. I dump out the bulk of the loose tea just by holding the bag upside down and shaking it over the trash can, and then turn the bag inside out and hold it under the running faucet to wash off the remaining tea. Doing this, I haven't had any problems with not being able to remove all the tea. The tea can discolor the bag, but honestly that's to be expected with untreated cotton. There may be a few loose threads along the seams, mainly on the small bags, but they are easy to trim. If for some reason that's bothersome, just turn the bag inside out before you put the tea in it so that the seams are on the outside. I haven't had any of the seams come apart. The seams on the medium and large bags are serged, so pretty sturdy, but the seams on the small bags are only sewn with a straight stitch, so might be more prone to fail.Regarding the drawstrings: the string it comes with is nothing special but seems adequate as long as you aren't yanking it super tight. The string hasn't been a problem for me so far. As far as getting knots undone, I just tie the string in a bow instead of a granny knot. The bow stayed tight even when I used it for fridge tea, which involves leaving it in the pitcher overnight, and was still easy to untie the next day. However, if you would prefer a sturdier string, I also tried replacing the string with food-safe butcher's twine, which worked equally well (although the ends of the twine actually fray more than the original string). I used 1mm twine because the channel for the string is very narrow. I used a yarn needle to thread the twine through the channel. The yarn needle I used was 2.75 inches, or 7cm. This worked great for the medium and large bags, but was too long for the small bags. However, because the cloth is so thin, I just threaded it to the halfway point, easily poked the needle through the fabric of the channel, pulled the needle through, and poked the needle back through the hole, which allowed me to get it through the rest of the way.In the picture you can see all three sizes of bags turned inside out and the lengths of the strings they come with (although I thought the lengths were adequate). On the left side of the picture, the bottom small bag has the original string, and the bag above it, with the needle in it, has the butcher's twine, so you can compare them. Also pictured are the yarn needles and the spool of twine (sold separately of course), and a quarter for scale.Overall I am really happy with these and definitely recommend them.

Fabulous bags. Forever reusable, nice tight weave
Love these things. I use them to brew my own iced tea using various herbs. I put the bag into a 2-cup measuring cup and set both on a kitchen scale, then measure in the amount of dried herbs I want. (Fwiw, I use about 44g dried stuff per gallon of tea.) Afterward, I shake out most of the wet tea stuff into the trash/compost, let the bags dry, turn them inside out over my sink to brush off the rest of the clinging dried stuff, then fully rinse and squeeze out the now-cleaned bag and let dry for the next use. I store a few of them in a plastic baggie to keep dust off in between brews. The have a pretty tight weave and catch all but the finest, most powdery of particles. Very pleased. This bag of 50 will last me forever. Would absolutely repurchase again, if needed. As mentioned by some others, definitely tie a knot in the end of the strings so they don't slip through.

Perfect Re-useable Bags
I am a huge tea person, and prefer loose-leaf teas to the utter crap that gets put into pre-packaged tea bags, many of which are made with microplastics thus rendering them non-biodegradeable, and almost all have elements that are non-biodegradeable AND non-compostable. As an environmentally minded person, the big benefit to loose tea is that it's 100% compostable (and really helps rejuvenate soils!, and by using the Tuzazo cotton linen bags I can simply rinse, hand wash (I put them in an old, clean butter container inside out, and shake them in cold water, vinegar, and dish soap after they've been thoroughly rinsed of any tea leaf bits), then hang them inside out on a line I set up in my laundry room. They bags of course pick of the colourings of the teas you use, but this is normal and if it bothers you a touch of bleach won't harm anything, provided you rinse THOUROUGHLY to remove the bleach. You don't really want to run these through the washing machine, and laundry soap, softeners, and other laundry products are not food-safe, and always use cold water or they will shrink on you. I also suggest tying a small roll-knot in the end of each string to prevent the cords unravelling. These are a finer weave than cheesecloth, yet sturdier, so you're not ending up with tea sediment in your cup, and the bags hold up very well. The small size is excellent for tea, and allows enough room for the leaves to bloom in the bag so you get a nice full profile. 100% recommend them, and they come in a variety of sizes (we have some of all) which are useful for brewing large gallon batches of iced tea, or adding herbs or smaller bones to soups and stocks so you can get the fresh flavours and meaty fats and health benefits without having to fish everything back out at the end.
