I bought these for my Father-in-law who is having trouble with his appetite and taste buds. He was craving strawberry flavor as all he can get locally is vanilla. He says they taste great! Drinking these have helped him gain back some needed weight which is making him feel better and be more active. I am thrilled that he likes the taste and is happily drinking them down to add protein into his diet since he doesn't seem to be able to eat a full meal any more.

I can only really compare this to protein shakes I've had as well as to Soylent. For whatever reason, this is not very filling - especially compared to Soylent. If I have a Soylent drink, I do not need to eat as much for a while. If I have this, I just don't really feel as full. I'm not quite sure why that is - is there less protein content with Ensure? Or is it something else?Regardless, the taste is fine and overall I would still recommend it - if you are looking for something simple to have alongside some other food. It's nice that it is shelf stable and does not need to be refrigerated. I would even more strongly recommend this if you can get a decent coupon with your order, as you sometimes can do every now and then on here.

I am currently enrolled in hospice for metastatic breast cancer. I'm often nauseous and lacking in appetite, which sets off a cascade of low energy, sitting a lot, and sleeping a lot. One of these often sounds appealing, and it's enough to break the low energy cycle for the day so I get to enjoy doing as much possible as long as possible.
