My Kitchen Just Got a Serious Upgrade...and My Food Tastes Fancy Now!
For years, my salt and pepper situation was... basic. I had the standard shakers that either dumped half their contents onto my plate or required me to perform some kind of percussive dance to get a single grain out. It was a culinary gamble every time. Then, I decided my spice game needed an intervention, and I ordered the Cole & Mason Derwent Grinder Set.Let me tell you, these aren't just salt and pepper grinders; they're kitchen jewelry. The copper finish? Chef's kiss. They sit on my counter looking all sleek and sophisticated, making my slightly-less-than-gourmet cooking feel instantly fancier. My toaster oven is clearly intimidated. But the real magic is in the grind. The pepper mill has, like, six settings! Six! I didn't even know there were that many ways to grind pepper. From a fine dust that disappears into sauces to a coarse, chunky explosion of peppery goodness, this thing delivers. The salt grinder is equally impressive with its multiple settings. I can finally achieve that perfect sprinkle without accidentally creating a salt lick on my steak.Using them is incredibly smooth. It's not a strenuous workout for your wrists; it's an elegant twist. They feel solid and well-made, like they could survive a minor apocalypse (or at least my clumsy handling). Refilling is easy too, though I did initially try to pour peppercorns into the grinding mechanism, which resulted in a small, spicy avalanche. Learn from my mistakes, people.Since getting these, I've noticed a difference in my cooking. Freshly ground spices just hit different. It's like my food suddenly woke up and realized it could taste amazing. My scrambled eggs are now events. My salads are experiences. I'm pretty sure my neighbors are wondering why my kitchen smells so much more... aromatic. If you're still using prehistoric salt and pepper shakers, do yourself a favor and upgrade. These aren't just functional; they're beautiful and they genuinely make cooking and eating more enjoyable. They've brought a little bit of fancy into my everyday life, and for that, they deserve all five stars.Five out of five perfectly seasoned bites!

Grinds better than I did in college
tldr: Nice design, works well. The Cole & Mason Derwent Pepper Grinder is a stylish and functional addition to any kitchen. Its sleek stainless steel design complements modern aesthetics, while the clear acrylic body allows you to easily monitor the peppercorn levels.Construction-wise, this grinder feels solid and well-made. The grinding mechanism is smooth and effortless, producing consistently ground pepper with each twist. I particularly appreciate the six adjustable settings, which offer a wide range of grind sizes from fine to coarse, allowing me to customize the pepper to my specific preferences. One of the standout features of this grinder is the consistency of the grind. Whether I'm using it for seasoning a steak or adding a finishing touch to a delicate dish, the pepper is always evenly ground, enhancing the flavors of my food without overpowering them.Overall, the Cole & Mason Derwent Pepper Grinder is a high-quality product that delivers on both form and function. It's a pleasure to use and a beautiful addition to my kitchen countertop. If you're looking for a reliable and stylish pepper grinder, I highly recommend this one.

Updated: Good Customer Service
Update: I received a refund from the seller due to the item's condition, which was very generous - great customer service. I think I can comment on the quality of the grinder now and ignore the shipping issues (in the old review below).Updated Review:Build Quality: 4.5/5, plastic barrel knicks this down from 5/5. Feels sturdy in the hand.Aesthetics: 4.5/5, again a slight downgrade due to the plastic. Otherwise it looks and feels nice.Action: 5/5, Grinds a LOT of pepper per turn. Feels smooth. The grind sizes are very good - the finest size is very fine. It is easy to change grind size.A quality product. My only complaint was how it was shipped, hopefully they change that in the future. The pepper grinder was shipped in an envelope with no packaging, so it arrived damaged.Since it was just in the envelope with no protection, it fell apart in transit. The central axel that turns the grinder is bent out of alignment due to shipping damage - it still works, I think, but it is not in new condition. Also, it was full of pepper when it was shipped, so the pepper fell out in transit and it and the various parts of the grinder scratched the stainless steel. All the pepper was just loose in the shipping envelope, but I wasn't necessarily planning on using it anyway - I'm more concerned about the damage to the item.It seems like a decent grinder, but I paid $50 for it and it arrived in essentially used, slightly damaged condition.

AWESOME!!!!!
After years of searching for a durable set of s&p grinders, I came across these. A bit pricey? Yes. But oh my holy wow! WORTH EVERY PENNY. The adjustable grind set is lovely and yes. They do grind NICELY. Wish I had found these years ago!

Good but don’t plan to disassemble them!
I love them and have had the set for over a year but recently had to disassemble the salt grinder and now I can’t put it back together! The pepper grinder came back together nicely but not the salt. I’m finding it difficult to justify spending $60 to replace the salt grinder. #disappointed

This is the BEST pepper grinder!
I bought one of these maybe 15 years ago in a store, and I still use it. I needed another pepper grinder and have gotten 2 different ones that are hard to use, grind to little for the work, and I end up not liking or using. It then occurred to me - maybe this one is still available - and it is! Its just like my old one. Produces good amount of ground pepper, and the adjustable grind feature is very nice. Looks very nice too (I have stainless steel). Based on the one I've had for >15 years, I anticipate the durability will be equivalent also. Totally worth it.
