Whitmor Aluminum Handle Triple Recycle Sorter Black

We live in an apartment that doesn't offer a recycling program. We put out some brown paper bags against a wall in our apartment and were using those to separate our recycling. Unfortunately, it just wasn't a great set-up. I found these as an alternative and they are working great! They are thin enough to not be cumbersome, but also hold an incredible amount of recyclables! They are also made of really sturdy material, so you shouldn't experience any tearing or ripping of these bags. The handles are a nice touch and make it easier to dispose of our recyclables at our local drop-off center. We ordered two so we could separate the 6 types of recyclables that we use most often. They fit in the truck of my hatchback perfectly but would fit just as well in a backseat, if necessary. Overall, a necessary purchase for our current living situation!

I live in the Bay Area, where recycling is like a religion. Living in an apartment and refusing to spend $100+ on a garbage/recycling can(s), meant that my recycling was semi-sorted, semi-piled on top of my refrigerator. When I could stack no more, I would take it down to the myriad of color coded trash cans at the back of my apartment complex.Thinking about how this product was going to make my life easier had me so excited that I was tracking every moment of this lifesaver's journey to California. Originally from the east coast, where recycling isn't really part of our lifestyle, I had always wondered how to get my glass bottle/aluminum can deposits back (I hear that my local Whole Foods actually returns deposits) but hadn't figured out how I would take my recyclables in.Some of the reviews had me worried that it wouldn't stand up on it's own. It does. It's sturdy enough that even without anything inside it stands up. It's a great size! It's NOT small but it's not too bulky that it takes up a lot of space. I really like the quality construction. The aesthetic is spot on. It looks great in my kitchen. I'm able to fit it lengthwise between the refrigerator and the wall or I can place it widthwise in front of a shelving unit.The top of my refrigerator is clear! I was able to easily put 4+ weeks of aluminum cans/plastics/cardboards and I still have room to spare. I was surprised that it's not at all heavy or bulky when full; it makes it really easy to carry down to the trash or car.This is a GREAT BUY!

This was a great way to organize my recycling. My son wanted to save the bottles and cans to take back for spending money but they were a mess in one big bin or bags all over in the kitchen. This is a beat way to keep them all in one place. It doesn't take up much room and slides in right next to my garbage cans. When a section is full he knows to count them up and empty them to return to the recycling center. Definitely made it neater and easier to deal with. I did put a square of cardboard from boxes I was recycling in the bottom of each section to help it stand up more sturdy but that was no effort at all.

Good price, for what it is. As others noted, it's BIG! But streamlined, not bulky, fits almost anywhere. I suppose one cleans it by hosing it down...haven't reached that point, yet. It worked well first time out - having sorted paper & plastic, cans & bottles. Easy to carry to the outside bins with the ultra-sturdy handles and comfortable grip. The narrow width makes it easy to carry and easy to find a place for. Just wish (niggling complaint) it stood better on its own and didn't "flop" to one side, when empty. All in all, a good thing to have. I could also see it being used to carry firewood, put kids' toys away, carry groceries from car to house, etc. A handy thing to have - and easy to store.

Okay so the sorting bag is amazing and sturdy and fits in a back seat easily, but the HANDLES are incredible until the bag is full. Then they're JUST far enough apart that my baby hands can't quite reach them both at once comfortably.Learn from my mistakes, everyone. Don't let your recycling pile up! LolExcellent bag. Would recommend for small homes.

I relied on other's reviews before purchasing. We do not have street recycling available and use Walmart's recycling center bins to recycle. We had been using empty cardboard boxes for plastic, paper, cardboard. What a mess that was in appearance. I measured the space I had available in my small kitchen and this fit perfectly against a wall. As other's stated, the paper grocery bags do indeed fit each separation making lifting a paper bag of plastic bottles out easy when recycling. My husband likes the grab by the handles and go feature. The bag fits nicely in the trunk and it's so much easier to grab one bag over multiple boxes of recyclables. There is just the two of us, so it takes 2-3 weeks before the bag is full enough to make the trip to recycle. Our trash can contains less than half of what we normally trashed. Most weeks we only have one bag of trash in the can as opposed to three we had prior to recycling. This is a great recycling bag. I highly recommend it.

This is the best tote bag ever. I live in an apartment and had to drive to a Recycling Center. I bought this tote on May 31st 2014 and have used it every single day since then. I have even packed food and clothes in it for several road trips. It's been in the rain and snow. It still looks brand new. The fabric is sturdy. The color hasn't faded. The logo is still crisp. The foam handles have not rotted. The stitching has not split. This is the best bag ever. My city has recently placed large recycling bins around downtown. So I can now pick up this bag, walk out my door, and go a few blocks to a recycling bin. I love this bag. I tried to add a photo but was unable. I expect to have this for another 10 years, at least.

Where we live, mosquitos are so BAD from may to basically October, so taking a couple of days worth of recycling out to the shed at night during that time and sorting it out there, I was getting eaten alive. With a small house, a family of 5, and no space for a sorting station inside the house, this bag has been a game changer! It's sturdy, and large enough to handle a decent amount of recycling, but it folds down for easy tidy storage. I'm very happy with this purchase. Anything that makes my life this much easier deserves a 5 star rating. The perfect simple solution for us!

Very sturdy and stand up on its own :) I love that it’s segregated, big enough to hold loads but small enough to tuck away in a corner. The handles are great making it super easy to bring down to my recycling bins :)

Our city recently started a recycling program so I had to organize my tiny kitchen. Pros: This is nice as it is portable and I can easily slide it out of the way to open the dishwasher. Cons: It is not rigid so it falls over when not full. I made cardboard liners but since I have to wash some things first and to be honest, I am not thoroughly drying my garbage, they are getting wet. It would have been nicer with plastic liners. Oh well, it does the job.
