Stillman & Birn Zeta Series Softcover Sketchbook, 5.5" x 8.5", 270 GSM (Extra Heavyweight), White Paper, Smooth Surface

I took this sketchbook to France and it was perfect for my daily sketches. Paper holds ink and watercolor without buckling. Easy to get quick sketches. I did not have to “fight” the paper.

Stillman and Burns is always reliable. I liked the hot press option for ink and wash. Soft cover lays flat.

I think that this is an amazing sketchbook, and I used multiple of them. The only thing I would complain about is how the Copic Markers bleed through, but never as much to bleed all the way to the next page. I received this as a Christmas present and I am satisfied.

I love this watercolor sketchbook. It has a very soft cover which is very pleasant to hold. The pages are 140lb hot press. They do not bleed through to next page. They absorb color beautifully. I am really enjoying this book and it is so nice that it makes me feel special. I smile every time I pull it out to do my plein air watercolor painting.

This is a nice sketchbook with thick pages that have almost a card stock snap to them. I use watercolor and gouache and the colors don’t bleed through the stitching in the center fold to other pages. However that is where the good news stops for watercolor use. It says it is cold press but the pages are very smooth, more like hot pressed paper. This type of paper is not my preference. But beyond that the paper is clearly not designed for watercolor. Sure it can handle water without buckling, but the paint seems to almost sit on top of the paper at first. If you want to use this sketchbook for a variety of uses it would be great, but for a watercolor artist it is not ideal. Sure it can hold a lot of water, but the paint sits on the paper weirdly. I DO NOT recommend for watercolor.

This sketchbook is absolutely superb. This weight of paper can easily accept watercolor paints. After I sketch and then watercolor into my sketch, once dry, I just put the entire sketchbook under a few books - then, there are no buckles or warps in the paper at all. I am absolutely devoted to Stillman & Birn sketchbooks now. They never disappoint, never come apart, and you can take them anywhere. You will love them, too!

This sketchbook is amazing!! I was skeptical by the reviews but man it’s nice works great with watercolor, graphite, marker, guache, and acrylic!!! Definitely get and the paper is so nice and the book lays flat!! You need!!

Excellent mixed media sketchbook as seen here. Thick smooth paper and bound well. Format allows for a little larger sketching, but is not cumbersome to carry or hold.

this sketchbook was promising with its 270 g/m² for watercolor, but infortunately it reacts weirdly with water. Almost like the paper doesn't want to absorb water. when it manages to absorb it, it leaves some strange stains and when you flip the page, the paper appears damaged.If you don't use much water with your gouache, it works.

En cuanto abrí el cuaderno de bocetos la “pasta blanda” se despegó. No existe ninguna pasta blanda es una misma pagina del cuaderno forrada con tipo tela adhesiva. NO LO COMPRES pensé que por el alto precio recibiría algo mejor. Lo mejor y más importante es que me pudieron hacer el reembolso. Gracias Amazon!!

The faulty glue of the binding causes those beginning pages to not lay flat. Not the biggest issue but honestly expected better after hearing such good things about these sketchbooks.

Ich war sehr enttäuscht, als ich dieses Buch bekommen habe. 50% von den Blättern haben graue Punkte oder Linien. Eine Seite hat einen Papierbafel. Die Durchleimung ist schlimm und ich habe das nur geöffnet. Dieses kleine Skizzbuch hat nur 28 Blätter und niemand konnte normal die Qualität überprüfen? Ich werde nie wieder dieses Skizzbuch kaufen.
