Very informative
Very good study book. We don't write inside so much. We ordered writing books. We research the material and create projects around the subject headings. Really enjoying using these to home school. We have found that much of the content in these books are not taught in school. So these books have been extremely useful.

Wonderful book, great learning aid
This is a great option for children to do extra work at home to help them reinforce their learning on the topic from school. This slimline, 37 page, fully illustrated and colour book is formatted ideally to help maintain concentration and focus. It is set out in double pages topics over four separate sections; Life on Earth, The Blue Planet, Natural Earth and Climate Change. Almost of which feature on the KS2 curriculum.Throughout the book there are sections of text explaining the topic, diagrams, charts, maps, fact files, illustrations and photographs. A lot of the photos, diagrams and illustrations have been annotated with facts. Good use of casual fonts make these sections stand out.The author has written the information in a manner that is easy to understand and keywords to remember have been underlined to effect. The content is relevant and well written. The topics in this book are difficult to tackle but the author has condensed them well. Children will be able to use these to remember their school lessons and recall facts from what they learnt there and also to reinforce these with the extended knowledge that they will take away from this book. The mixture of illustrations and photographs is about fifty / fifty and works very well for young children of the targeted age group. Many of the pages have wonderful photographs or illustrations in the background which help make this book more visually appealing. My son, who loves facts and learning really enjoyed this book. I think that working through this book at home will greatly increase his knowledge of geography by learning lots of fact as well as increasing his understanding of the topics by explaining it in such a good way that sometimes as a parent I cannot. The only point about this book that concerns me is how the Climate Change section is written. For me, I am an avid environmentalist and I am greatly concerned about the environment. But even I understand and accept that it is not fact, only theory. In the section there are lots of facts. What concerns me how matter of factly the section is. For example it states ..."which scientists think are making the world warm up too much." It really should read some scientists. It is important for children to learn about theory and that there are alternative arguments. It helps them understand the whole issue and other theories. And in turn help them make their own minds up. Because there are lots of scientists in the world that do have different theories.Despite this, I think this oversight was unintended and it is something a parent can explain to their child if they so wish.Overall, this is a wonderful book that is a fantastic learning aid.
