Will this work for any type of inner door hook? My 2012 chevy equinox doesn't have the typical latch hook, depicted in the photos.

To an extent it might work depending on how rigid that metal latch is, bit if it's not a solid metal bar attached with the bolts to the pillar, I wouldn't use it.
