SANITY SAVER!!!!QUICK ACCESS TO THE THINGS YOU NEED TO LOCK UP. LOOK HERE. I MADE INSTRUCTIONS
I have been using this for a year now. It is AWESOME. We have to lock all the food up in our house so my son doesn't eat it all. Hasps and chains and locks take too long to manipulate and are too hard to remember to put back on. The directions are pretty darn poor. It literally took me HOURS to figure it out. I installed another on another cabinet and it went much more quickly that time. Essentially you have to drill one largish hole and 2 small holes for screws. You have to have something for it to catch on and you have to have a slide bolt to secure the opposite door to. This and combination door knobs have improved my quality of life greatly. Update: Died at about a year and a half. Still worth it in my opinion. We used this thing multiple times a day every day. For the price it can't be beat. I'll post something on installation when I replace this one.HERE ARE MY DETAILED TRANSLATION OF THE INSTRUCTIONS.

Quick to install - easy to use - makes the world a safer place!
This truly is a wonderful product. I needed to convert a cabinet door into a rapid entry handgun cabinet for when grandkids are over. With this, I don't have to keep my weapon locked in a safe whenever the grandkids stay overnight. It works flawlessly and provides instant access to a weapon so we won't need to worry about home intruders during the night, and also don't have to worry about a grandkid coming into the room in the middle of the night and finding an unlocked weapon. As anyone who is well trained and takes home protection seriously will tell you, someone trying to fiddle with a key or combination DURING an attack, especially in the dark, has already lost. With the RFID provided wristband, just moving my wrist over the lock pops open the cabinet door for immediate access to the means needed to protect my family for those critical few minutes until the police get there if we are ever in harms way from a home invader at night.

Could never get this to work. The instructions were horrible and when I asked for help they sent me the instructions again. Go figure. What a waste.

Terrible directions, great product for the price
This was the only lock anywhere near this price range that would do what we wanted it to, but it took A LOT of hassle to make it work for us. 1. It requires a solid surface to install through. We wanted to put it on a mirrored cabinet door, so we thought we could install it on the side of the cabinet. No. Eventually, we were able to put the front and back pieces on the mirrored door offset from one another, but it took a good bit of adjusting and re-adjusting to make that work. 2. know that the keypad cannot be installed on the side of a cabinet, as we had hoped to use this. 3. The instructions are utterly horrible to decipher, but they are also WRONG. We never were able to get the keypad to accept the factory setting code, even after resetting multiple times. You can't program your own code unless you can get it to accept the factory code first. Here was the secret, which was NOT printed in our directions. You have to press "key" FIRST, then the factory pincode (I think it was 12345678), then the "key" button again. That finally unlocked it for us!! We had to just do this by trial and error about 40 times before we figured this out. The seller will tell you any key press on the pad will activate the lights on the keypad, and that is true, but it won't accept any correct code unless you specifically hit the "key" button first. Then, always to use a code to open, you kit "key" + "PIN CODE" + "key" again. Hitting any button will get the key pad to light up, but only hitting "key" first will allow you to enter a correct code and have the lock actually open. The reasons we hung in there long enough to figure all this out was 1. we couldn't find an alternative that would do what we wanted at any price, and 2. This keypad has the masking feature where you can hit any series of buttons, so long as the correct code is embedded in it, which makes it hard for kids to figure out. Finally, know that you could easily overcome this lock by just pulling hard, but for us that would mean breaking the medicine cabinet, and I think that in itself is a deterrent to most curious people. A true addict might take the risk of breaking the cabinet, but hopefully just a nosy experimenting child wouldn't.

Works well
This product does an excellent job. The only tricky part is the installation. The directions are basically not there, they are so minimal. Programming a new admin code took some thinking about since the instructions are not clear but are correct.Other than installation, I think it is a great product for the money. The extra part in the box, is an external power source you can plug in, if the batteries in the lock die.
