Petsmile Professional Pet Toothpaste for Cats & Dogs - Only VOHC Accepted Toothpaste - Clinically Proven to Control Plaque & Tartar Calprox Formula (Rotisserie Chicken, 4.2 Oz)

I wanted an enzyme toothpaste for the dogs and tried this one with the poultry flavor. Our dogs eat mostly poultry and loved the Pedrodex poultry flavor but not Petsmile. I tried to use this every other day but they would actually wince on the Petsmile days. But Pedrodex is just a regular toothpaste without enzymes so I searched to find a way they would like Petsmile. All dogs are different but I found a way to make them happy with Pedrodex. What I do is put a dab of Pedrodex on front half of the toothbrush, and Petsmile on the back half and they seemed to like it. Now I put use about 1/3 Pedrodex and 2/3 Petsmile and do daily brushings.Another tip is to brush the front half of the teeth first, and then do the back. If I start in the back, it seems to upset them. Now I start by brushing the front half of their teeth and then move into the back half where the buildup happens. If I start in the front they seem to go along even though I do most of the brushing in the back.

With regular brushing, the plaque goes away! Also, my dog LOVES the taste. Not sure what they put in there, but it's like a treat for her

I spread this toothpaste on my dogs teeth every night before bed using a tooth brush. The vet said his teeth look great and I have had people comment on how fresh his breath is. He is six years old.

Dogs like the taste. It is VOHC recommended.

It's a great toothpaste, and my dogs love it. If they could eat the whole thing, they would. It makes it easier to brush their teeth, and you can tell it works. After they get their teeth cleaned, and if I brush their teeth regularly, they stay clean.

It's good dog toothpaste for what it is. It's better than nothing, but it's not all that I had read it would be. It's not terrible and you're not harming your dog if you use it, it's just not as good as what I was using before. The smell is a bit weird and there is nothing "fresh" about the smell of the paste but brushing your dog's teeth helps dog breath in and of itself so, there is that. It cleans your dog's teeth so long as you are consistent with it because there is no magic for teeth that already have build-up and bad breath because of not having a routine teeth brushing regimen. The large flip cap and plastic squeeze tube is convenient as well. I'm not saying don't buy this or that it's not good. I'm just saying I prefer what we were using before if I had to choose between the two.
