I do not have exact comparisons on output and specs. Install was fairly easy. Be careful with the shoulder buttons and triggers when doing so. The battery also lacks clips or the extensions that hold the battery in place. So when re-assembling it can be slightly tricky to line it up. Otherwise pretty solid purchase. The charge cable is also a nice inclusion. Speaking of, the kit also comes with the needed tools.

Works perfectly Completely Satisfied
It works, comes with necessary tools and even an USB connector that I didn't actually need. The battery seems to hold a charge as good or better than the original did when it was new. Recommended.

it's hard to find a battery of this sort that isn't trying to play capacity games, this one doesn't
This isn't promising 4x capacity increase and it doesn't deliver it. That's good. It fits in the spot of the original battery, no need to remove the frame in there which locates the battery in the controller.Install is reasonably easy, it's not trivial to re-close a DS3. But this doesn't make it any harder than Sony already did.Comes with all the tools but I didn't use them as I have better tools. This is not a criticism, just I don't know how easy it is with the included tools. You do not need to solder anything.

I'm surprised
It's literally the same size as the old battery and twice as longer lasting.I had to replace the battery on the controller as it was only responsive when connected to the console via cable. So I bought this one and now it works wireless too.

Don't force it
This is almost an exact replacement for the original battery in my very old PS3 controller. If you replace it right then it should go back together easily.Old battery: 16g weight, 35.71mm width.New battery: 14g weight, 36.35mm width.Because the new battery is slightly wider I used my thumbnail to slightly flex/pry out the tab on the casing so that it would go over the battery edge. You can see that tab in the closeup pic. If the tab hits the top edge of the battery and you push down on the controller casing then it pops the battery out of the mount. Also, the rear buttons can pop out of their mounts as well. Each rear button has a tiny spring on the side that has to be repositioned properly if it pops out.

Doesn't hold a charge
The shipping was fast. I ordered one battery and was excited when it arrived. However my excitement was very short lived. This battery didn't hold a charge at all. I contacted Amazon and they were quick to send me out a replacement however when the replacement came that battery had the exact same issue the battery doesn't hold a charge these must be very old stock that the company is trying to get rid of. So now I'm just going to return the second battery as well and get my money back.
