Q: Does this handle replace an oval lid?

It is just the handle, not the lid. I assume it would be able to be screwed on to the oval lid, if the holes for the old handle line up with this handle. This is just the handle, not the lid. It is a very nice handle. It is much nicer than the one that originally comes with the slow-cooker.

Q: How long is the screw?

Was a little too long for the pan I was using it for. I had a stainless steel washer which I used as a spacer. Works fine and I am very satisfied.

I don't know directly. You need to know the diameter of the C/B bolt and also the thread size. If these match the Melzon knob then it will do a great job. A good hardware store can probably give you the diameter and thread size of your lid.

The 5/16 hole will be fine but the included screw may or may not be long enough when using with the included washer. I needed to use a rubber washer in order for the screw to go in tight. I doubt the screw will rust but if it does, replace it.
