It's actually great
I've read all the worst about modem, but i bought it bcs of price ( 2 energy drinks). Got package, unopened, with manual... Just threw 48 sim card inside, set up password on laptop, and it works perfect. I watch Disney +, Netflix, Sky stream without any problems. I can catch signal in whole house.

Works Well!
With Smarty SIM worked straight out of the box! As a mini-router as can connect up to 10 devices, and communication will work between devices on the local network, as well as between a device and the 3G/4G wireless network. Useful feature was green light indicating connection to 4G network and blue light indicating connection to 3G network. Power consumption also low, around 1W when idle, and 2.5 W when exchanging data over the wireless network. Worked fine on a 5V USB battery power bank. Instructions could be written in larger text and simplified, as may be confusing to someone none-technical.

Avoid
Basic!ly it doesn’t recognise a 3 UK sim, hopeless product and the documentation is incredible bad, I’m no asking for a refund because being an electronics tech I have to open the device …the design is awful

It's easy
Don't know why people are having problems, maybe they are using nano sim when it's says micro SIM, that said I'm using nano SIM carefully placed. Plugged in and it just works with smarty/3 SIM.

It works but you already have a better option
It does work but the speed is useless and in the manual it states to use a two amp plug or you may have power issues (turns on and off)I found using an old mobile phone in hotspot mode was far more efficient for speed and ease of use. Tried an ee SIM and O2, both slow speeds.
