Yes and no. This does not diffuse the light where you won't see the dots. It does diffuse it slightly. Now if you give it distance from the strips it will help significantly I ended up using a ton of silicone as they were buried in a gap. So it worked like that. But no this is not the solution to your problem if you are trying to totally diffuse the dots.
