Awesome vintage colors!
Very nice colors and easy to use. The instructions are clear and great for any beginner or amateur painter. They do take a few days to fully dry.

Better than expected
I bought two of these sets to "practice" paint. My expectations equaled the low price. What I got was a very good, creamy and heavily pigmented oil paint. No binder separation. It's a great choice for a student or hobby painter. You can create a nice painting at a great price. I'd rate them up there with major paint manufacturers' studio lines of paint.

Great for beginners
I just started painting and tried very briefly with acrylics but was frustrated with how fast they dried and wanted deeper colors.I picked the essentials pack cause I figured it would be a good starter set. It has all the colors I need to mix whatever color I need. It’s great for beginners. The colors are packed with pigment, seem pretty thick and mix really well. I’m still learning how much certain colors need more or less of it for mixing. If you’re new like me, I suggest using tiny bits and go from there! (If you end up with extra paint when you’re done with a project you can put it in a glass jar and freeze it and it should last quite a while longer.)They mix well with both linseed oil and gamsol.I’ve posted my first 2 1/2 painting I’ve done and my current palette. My only complaint is that I can only find the paints in sets and not individual tubes which makes replacing 1 color hard to do. I had to order more titanium white from another company cause I’ve gone through most of it!Overall, I think it’s great for beginners and would look buy more in the future if I need another set or they start selling individual tubes.

Value
I'm a digital artist starting to venture into traditional mediums. I've stuck to acrylics up until now because of their inexpensiveness compared to other mediums. Though I've always found their color to be lacking in chroma and would have to resort to lowering the value range of my artwork in order to create the illusion of vibrancy. I decided to give oil paints a try and quickly became discouraged with how much more expensive they were. I tried looking for a value brand that didn't sacrifice quality for price and I stumbled upon ZenArt.The oil paints were kind of hard to remove from the packaging but it really wasn't a serious issue. ZenArt clearly believes in their product as they offer a 1 year warranty, which to me, for an art product, is insane.I attached a quick portrait I did to test out the paints and I gotta say, oil paints are a real pain to clean haha, but man, I'm really excited with the potential these have. The value range is just larger. Brighter tints and darker shades, deeper hues. ZenArt doesn't leave anything to be desired in terms of quality and I'm excited that I can approximate the chroma and saturation that digital art so easily does.

Happy Artsy Preteen!
I'm honestly the last person you want to read a review from if you're looking for what a real artist thinks, but despite my incredibly limited artistic ability I have been trying to engage more with the preteen through her language, which means spending time doing artsy things together. She is already a fantastic painter, but given her age I am hesitant to go too crazy with different types of paints and pallets because they are so pricey. So when she began asking for some oil paints, I really didn't know what to expect but came across ZenART and thought (hoped) it looked decent for the price. We were not disappointed by these paints! The thing I was most pleased with was the size of the tubes. These are not the little sample size tubes she got from a set from some craft supply store, these are full sized tubes that should last for a few significant pieces. The thing she liked the most was how well the colors worked together. She had a lot of fun trying different amounts to make so many additional colors and shades, and she created a really cool abstract piece with them. (I won't tell you what I created...the colors were pretty, the art I did not so much.) The colors are very vivid and bright and seem to spread very well without having to use too much paint. I have no experience with oil paints to compare these to, but my preteen and I were both very pleased with this set and will be getting other ZenART sets in the future!
