I am finding the DVD very useful and informative
I am finding the DVD very useful and informative, especially the tips and other peoples experiences of following the Daniel plan. One small criticism, is that it would be useful to have subtitles, so I don't have to turn the volume up, as I have some deafness.

Not a 40-day, daily guided plan
The audio book is hard to folllow. I thought it would be more inspirational or spiritual in tone with changes to make during each of the 40 days, with themed devotions, scripture, and steps to apply each day toward a healthier end. I bought it to go along with a 40 day fast. It's not divided by day as the title suggests. It is a lot of info on what to eat and not to eat, but not much new I haven't read in other detox books. And this is the second Rick Warren 'Daniel Plan' book I've been disappointed to see has little to do with the diet of Daniel of the Old Testament. The actual book must be written in short sections with catchy headlines and detailed lists of foods. Listening to it read word for word doesn't flow, the headlines are odd interuptions and segues into the next paragraph. The long food lists are hard to absorb without pausing and pausing and writing them down. The narrator sounds like a character from SNL "and gosh darnit, people like me." Not the most enjoyable or useful book in an audio version.
