Where do i but the adapters to connect the hose?

Lowes, Home Depot or ACE Hardware stores have them. Or you can unscrew the adapter from the sprinkler and screw the sprinkler to your hose.

Why is the connector on the sprinkler a male connector since it should be a female connector to attach to a hose?

It is a female connector. What you see in the picture is an attachment for an easy type connection that pops into a connector on the hose. You don’t have to use it.

What type of hose suit this sprinkler? Does this leak?

Any kind of garden hose. Larger the hose the more water it will spray and faster.

Is this lead and/or BPA free?

This is all plastic so I would assume no lead is in it.
