Very fresh, tasty, flavorful spice. Only mildly picante with pleasing smoky aroma. Great component for meat rubs (especially for pork) and just general southwestern spice palate.

The smoke notes are of oak, and hickory. It has a mildly medium heat, and can be used generously, without overpowering the food with spiciness. Perfect along with ancho, guajillo, jalapeño, and arbol, for a chili or enchilada sauce.Makes a good sub for smoked paprika, though it is hotter than paprika. Would be EXCELLENT on eggs, potato salad, rice dishes, in sausage, as a meat rub, seitan, tofu, baked beans, and many more. Indispensable spice imo.

Good level of hotness, at least for me, not too strong and not too weak. And the taste is quite good too.

i've tried 3 brands of Chipotle spices , this one has a unique smoke to it, its got a sweet aroma and yet warm. This has been my favorite chipotle, i think its cause the method on how they smoke it, and also taking care of their smoker. Something in the method is different but i like it!

Great for chilies, nice smooth "burn" that doesn't linger. Usually at the end without the burn in your mouth. Mixed with curry for something special.
