no, this one do not have the 32nds conversion, we will get a new updated one, which have this feature. thank you.

Q: Does this item give you a go/no go reading? Do you have to convert decimal inches to fractions so that it makes sense to technicians?

It just give numbers in mm or fraction of inch in decimal form. Yes you would have to convert decimal to eighths if techs needed that. I use mm instead for that reason - no conversion needed.

Q: Why does the number (in MM) get smaller as the depth increases? Then switches from a negative number..??

The pin on the end of the probe need to be fully recessed when you press the zero button. If it is extended and you press the zero button, then as the probe is moved, it will get smaller and then become negative. To zero the probe, first press the gauge down on a flat surface. Then press the zero button. Now place the gauge on the tire above the tread and push the probe down until it hits the bottom of the tread. The gauge should go from zero the the depth of the tread.
