Sound quality
I love the sound quality that this machine produces, it’s a great machine for the price, the only thing that I don’t like is the controls, they make the unit look cheap because they don’t line up with the numbers, other than that it’s a great machine. To follow up on comments that I read from some reviewers that it does not have a preamp for the turntable it does not require a separate preamp, it is already a preamp before the main amp, what it does is boost the signal and send it to the main amp and the main amp then boost that signal to a higher frequency signal,That is why it’s called a preamp before the power amp. Some reviewers seem to have mix ideas about the xlr connections, they are output signals, they can be used for your speakers or anything else you want to use them for, I use them to my power amp and from my power amp to my speakers, one more thing, lots of reviewers say that the tape feature doesn’t work, I use it and it work, you have to select it I did that and it worked, I love it it’s a nice piece of equipment.

Either it doesn’t work or I am confused
I thought I would be able to run my iPhone music through this via Bluetooth or USB to my powered speakers. All I got was a nasty squealing noise.I unplugged it and put it back in the box…Hopefully I can return it.

A good project for the technically savvy.
First let me say that I like this product.I am having fun with it. I am a retired Electronics Engineer and like technical challenges. Plus there is no other device that has the features of the Musysic MU-PRE-2H. The features I like are (1) MP3 SD/USB player with readable ID3 Display, random play feature, ease of navigation, and remembers all settings when powered down and when turned on, starts playing where you left off last time, (2) detachable power cord, (3) processor loop, (4) Output RCA connectors to Amp, (5) Volume Control, (6) Tone Controls, (7) Compact, (8) Good Build quality and ease of disassembly, repair and modification. I could not buy the parts to build this device for what I paid for it. The only defective part I have found is the grounding switch (which I repaired). The question is whether the product is right for you.The product is right for you as long as:1) you do not need a Phono preamplifier (The PHONO input is a line level input, you will have to supply your own PHONO preamplifier).2) you do not need a tape monitor function-It does not work (I repaired mine).3) you do not need a recording output-it does not work (I repaired mine).4) you do not need a balanced output (There is no Balanced chip in this design) (I disabled the balanced outputs).5) you do not mind that the output of the MP3 player has saturation distortion in one direction of the waveform (I repaired mine).6) you do not mind that the Balance control is mostly non-functional (I repaired mine)7) you do not mind that the SD player does not perform with PNY 2Gb cards (I use larger capacity cards).8) you do not mind that some of the functions have the Left and Right channels reversed (I repaired mine). Those who do not care about these features will not miss them.

Somethings work, some don't
Had a hard time trying to find a simple stereo preamp without spending alot. This is replacing an older Adcom that's showing it's age. This does alot but I would have settled for less features and a higher build quality for even a little more money. Reading some of the reviews people complained of a buzz, in my decades of experience a buzz is usually someone's inexperience with how to properly hook things up. This was very clean, no buzz. The tape monitor doesn't do anything, the button appears to just a button and a light. Your first impression is this is definitely from China. Example, the knobs have a cheap feel, they don't even line up to center, it's off just enough to look cheap. I'll update as I play with more of the features. The manual is a joke, especially the English used for descriptions. Example, this is a "professional preamp". Even companies that actually make pro gear don't use the word "professional preamp" it's someone in China trying to sound........
