Q: What do you do when you need to dump your trash, how do you open it, i cant imagine you get the trash out thru the top funnel?

To empty the bag, you have two options. 1. Simply turn it upside down. 2. Untie the bag from the hoop and widen the opening via draw string and dump it separately. Reattach the hoop with the draw string and a knot.

Q: What is the mesh size?

The holes in the mesh are 3/16”. Seems perfect to me. Makes it easy to clean and nothing comes out especially since the bottom is solid. I highly recommend these bags for keeping your boat clean and trash out of the ocean!

Q: Can you use kitchen trash bags with this? I don't want drips and bugs. You didn't answer other person because you "couldn't imagine" why.

Q: Does it open at the bottom for easy emptying?

Not at the bottom, but at the top, all You need to do is untie the draw string and the bag opens to full width. After it’s empty, simple reattach the hoop and sinch and tie again.
