How long does it take to finish the game?

The dollhouse game takes two hours or more if you use all of the hints

Has anyone played with just 2 people?

yes, my daughter and I played it together. 2 or 3 would be a good number of players. In my opinion, more than that would be too many.

Could you play this game with more than 8 people?

Technically there's no user "limit". However the contents of the box are somewhat limited in size etc. and having 10 or so people crowding around the table to see everything could prove to be more trouble than it's worth. Plus you could end up suffering from the "too many cooks in the kitchen" problem where the solution(s) are either too easy to come by with that many opinions and/or too hotly debated to make the game fun for everyone. I have played these games with as many as 5 people and that seemed to be the ideal upper limit with 3-4 players being the sweet spot. Either way everyone had a good time. Hope this helps!
