I got this to break up the ice on our gravel driveway. We have a steep driveway and needed some way to break up the ice that formed because plowing it wasn't enough. This works like a charm and gives you a good workout too! Even though it does feel relatively light and comfortable in the hands, it takes a lot of energy to chop repeatedly.

I’m using this to dig a trench for concrete block edging along my driveway. I could not do it without a pick axe! Breaks through gravel infused dirt and roots easily, if you have the strength to do so! Definitely get a workout but this pickaxe is super stout and indestructible.
