Pertronix1281 Ignitor for Ford 8 Cylinder

In 1996 I purchased my first Pertronix ignitor and Flamethrower coil which I installed on my '68 Mustang. After 25 years and about 50, 000 miles of service I decided to upgrade the original Ignitor for a new one, which I purchased in March of 2019. A wonderful upgrade to my classic car it is easy to install and will provide years of trouble free motoring. Hopefully I will be around long enough to put another 50K on the odometer!

This was a perfect fit for my 69 f100. Easy to install and my truck started on the first try. Sounds great just a little timing and it should be good. I removed the resistor wire for the install and I bought the matching coil for it. You won't be disappointed with this.

It works great and was easy to install. The only issue was the fact that the distributer was an after market non OEM and the shaft was undersize. In my case it was not a problem as it was under warranty and was replaced with an OEM by the shop. It would be good if there was a notice for anyone looking at this product about the possibility of an install issue .

Super easy installation. Did most of it myself in about 20 minutes. Left out a star because the instructions aren't super clear about the wiring to the ignition coil. But works well and a lot cheaper than a 500 dollar distributor

Installed this on my 68 Mustang GT 390 and what a difference it made. Easy start up and engine runs so smooth. Just to play it safe I had checked my timing before and after the installation to make sure if nothing changed and all was good. No adjustments required.
