It Works!
As much as I don't like coyotes in the backyard, Shake Away has become my favored deer repellent in the last two years of use. There is a highly effective Liquid Fence concentrate that I keep on hand for when I run out of the granules, but it still has to be mixed with water, carried around in a heavy sprayer, and repeated after rain. Crucial, too, is keeping the sprayer clean; lately, again, a clogged nozzle sends me to the computer to reorder the granules. Shake Away (at a competetive price, as it normally is here) is fast, easy and effective. The granules take some time to break down, so it isn't necessary to sprinkle again after every rain shower. In the autumn I sprinkle it on top after mulching the gardens heavily with leaves. After snow, I sprinkle it into such protected items as empty bird baths and feeders (which deer are as prone to go after as lilys in spring), and under an upturned wheelbarrow.I have put a small quantity into the toe of old socks and hung it with a plastic bag over it at a gate, breaks in a crumbling fenceline, etc., and found it lasts a long time and works well. When I can no longer smell it in the socks, I watch for signs of deer activity; it might be time to replace the Shake Away (although deer have a much sharper sense of smell than we do). After training the deer to stay away, I've found that sprinkling only around the perimeter serves as an adequate reminder to them, and keeps down the quantity of product needed. Shake Away is well worth the price to me.

Cap Loose and Contents Spilled in Box
As shown in other reviews, I received product that had lid opened and contents were loose within the box. Ordered as a single shipment with future orders filled with my monthly subscription. However, will cancel subscription shipments since I would not want to have contents spill out on other subscription items. Hopefully, this deer repellent will help to keep the deer away from my plants.

Continues working even after a rain
I'd given up on planting things the deer won't devour. I took a chance on this product and sprinkled it on a steep hillside with crown vetch, which the deer love. Even after multiple heavy rains, the deer haven't eradicated it! I suspect they got the wiff of cyote urine when it was freshly spread, but perhaps it does still work after rains. In any case, a stella-d'oro that I'd planted years ago never bloomed (deer ate each blossom before it fully opened.) This year, she son-of-a-gun has dozens of blooms and nary a deer has touched them! Love this stuff!

Works well even in high deer area
I've been buying Shake Away deer repellant for some time now, and I think it works fairly well.My wife and I live in a spot where our back yard runs up against a large field, with a small forrest just to the left. Needless to say, we see plenty of deer in our back yard during the year. We started a garden 4 years ago, and unfortunately the first year we lost most of our produce to deer. We looked into several different methods to keep deer away, and a neighbor mentioned he uses these. We gave these granules a shot, and they seem to work well. Deer have left us alone since then, for the most part, but we have found that you'll need to re-apply whenever it rains (which is does plenty in Ohio). The first year we bought the smaller container, but since then we've used the 5lb version to keep up with mother nature! :)

Love the product, shipping sucks...big time.
Love this product. It works well and the deer hate it. These two containers were just dumped into a USPS box with no padding or blocking. One of the containers blew open and dumped smelly deer repellant through out the box. I have to screw around with it to get the spilled product out and into my yard. Amazon needs to instruct the suppliers on how to pack a box. Could not figure a way to have UPS pick up the box or would have returned it. If Amazon is going to turn off the option to have UPS pick up returns, my purchases will go to zero.

Seems to be working
I've had deer problems for a few years now. For decades no problem, but deer have moved into the neighborhood in the last few years, so this is a new problem for me. I only heard about this product recently, and saw that it kept deer away from a neighbor's plants and decided to try it.I don't often actually see the deer - just the destruction of foliage on perenial flowers and plants before getting a chance to enjoy the flowers themselves. Until these deer showed up, the flowers had flourished for decades. Grrr! If only they ate the plants I don't want, I'd welcome them with open arms. And I don't appreciate the piles of poo they leave behind on the lawn. The Shake Away granules are similar to beach sand, but a variety of shades from black to beige, and stinky! But only if you mistakenly open it inside. I get only faint wiffs of it when spreading it outside. I dip a tablespoon sized scoop into the container and sparingly spread it - they say more isn't better, the deer only need a wiff. Once it's down, I don't smell it at all. I started spreading it as soon as I noticed a clump of sprouting spring leaves half eaten - they beat me to the punch. That was a few weeks ago, and I haven't seen any further damage, nor poop, since then. I spread it 2x a week for 3 weeks, not the 2 weeks in the directions - taking no chances! I'll will go down to every 2 weeks going forward, but if I see any signs of them coming back, I'll go back to spreading it more frequently. I don't spread it literally everywhere - only at the borders of my lawn and also directly around the foliage and flowers they eat. Hoping to enjoy those flowers again after not seeing them for several years.
