Amerex B410T, 2.5lb Purple K Chemical Class B C Fire Extinguisher

This is one of those products you don't want to use. It is for grease fires, but when needed, you want to use this. The bracket that comes with this is very sturdy. The type of equipment that you would expect to find in a commercial kitchen. The manufacturer is also one of the more widely used brands in commercial settings. This is the next step up from a consumer grade product.

These are extremely well made fire extinguishers: No junky plastic parts, and even the steel mounting bracket is top quality. I'm thankful Amerex is one of the few manufacturers to offer *Purple K* extinguisher in the smaller sizes and Fire and Safety Plus sells them at a affordable price.I normally don't buy safety critical items like fire extinguishers off the internet, but Fire and Safety Plus ships them double boxed and well marked in "Fragile" tape. My package arrived at my door without a single dent in the box and in perfect condition . I hope to not need another fire extinguisher (in the next 10 years at least) but if I do, I would certainly buy from them again!

No way to tell until it's needed! I had a purple K years ago that indicated "green" for 25 years - but I never needed to use it!

Since I haven't had to actually use this fire extinguisher, I can't give a definitive review. I can say that it arrived in good condition, fully charged, with a single strap mounting bracket. Hopefully I'll never have to use it, but if appearances are worth anything, it should do the trick.

Bought this for an automotive extinguisher for my RzR. The bottom handle is not held in place by the pin so it rattles around loose.Changing my review back to 5 stars, I just tightened up the plastic seal tie and it stopped the pin and handle from being loose. I think it is a good value, although I would prefer the pin to go through both handles still (top and bottom)Bottle was red, not gray like in the picture

Ok, To start with I purchased 3 of these at the same time to keep in each vehicle. I received all 3 sometime around JAN 2017. The ones I bought were sold by Amazon directly. When I first got them all was good. They are a great quality extinguisher. From everything I have seen and read Amerex is one of the top tier brands for extinguishers.Fast forward 2 years and while cleaning out one of vehicles I find one of the extinguishers showed almost empty on the pressure gauge. Strange... It had not been discharged. I went to replace it with one from a spare vehicle and to my surprise the one I had in that vehicle was even emptier! I inspected my 3rd extinguisher and it was still 100% OK.They come with a 6 year warranty and obviously had not been discharged or mistreated to I contacted Amerex via their online contact form explaining my situation. A week or so passes and they do not respond so I try a second time. Finally a representative replies back that there is nothing they can do and I need to go back to the seller/distributor. So I contact Amazon and they refuse to do anything since it had been over 2 years since I purchased these. I contact Amerex again and ask again if they can help get the extinguishers replaced or fixed and again they insist I go through a distributor and insist they do not sell on Amazon. Somehow I seem to recall these drop shipped to me directly from Amerex and Amazon refuses to tell me who their "distributor" is for these.So, I contact a local distributor who more than feels for my situation but explains that they do not get reimbursed by Amerex to fix them but told me to bring them to their shop and they would be happy to repair them for me at no cost. They suspected the pressure gauge leaked but would leak test them to find out. So I bring them to my local shop and they again were extremely helpful and in no time had tested them and verified both gauges leaked. They replaced the gauges serviced and recharged them at no cost even when I explained I was more than happy to pay for their services and parts.To anyone thinking of buying these or any other Amerex fire extinguishers from Amazon please be aware you are much better off just buying them LOCALLY from a local dealer that will be there to help if you need it. I will NEVER buy something like this online again. Amerex sells a ton of these things online, and they make a good product but they really need to re-evaluate their customer support for both end users and their dealer network.
