Works great on 2021 Rav4. Survived 2000 mile trip without problems.
As a Viner, I normally never review things that I actually buy out of my own pocket. But, I'm reviewing this one because it answers questions I had but could never find the answer to.Ok, the most important one. Will the exhaust from a 2021 Rav4 cause any boxes like cardboard, or plastic box, to get hot or catch on fire? And, the resounding answer is NO! We traveled 1130 miles one way to Canada with a LOT of stuff on the back. We had large plastic storage boxes, and cardboard boxes on top of that. We strapped them all down with bungee cords. And, nothing melted or caught on fire. We would periodically check out the boxes in the back at rest stops, and the boxes all felt cool / cold to the touch. I have a 11" sandal / slide to measure the exhaust to the hitch one on of my pics. And, at that distance, everything was safe.On the drive back a few months later, though, we had just some cardboard boxes. We left all of our plastic storage bins up in Canada. And, one thing to not about this hitch is that in wet roads, whatever is in the back there WILL get wet on the under side. However, if you're driving at speed in the rain. The top will not get, because of the drafting effect. Although, the sides of the boxes may get wet. So, if you can, use plastic boxes instead. All in all, this is a GREAT hitch carrier that extends your carrying space. We brought up so much junk with us to Canada, that we needed this hitch to carry everything with us. It's LIGHT. It's STURDY. It's EASY to put together. And, the best thing is, it's way better for your fuel economy than a roof cargo carrier. Those things absolutely kill your fuel economy by adding lots of drag. This hitch carrier with about 100 lbs loaded didn't do anything to our fuel economy. It was the same as it every was.Absolutely, whole heartedly recommend it.

Great lightweight rack!
This fit my needs perfectly.I looked for an all-in-one cargo box that was hitch mounted. After seeing units that go for $2000 I was determined to find another way. I bought this rack and a box and some heavy duty cargo straps and did it for $300.This wrack is lightweight aluminum but feels very substantial. It takes an hour to assemble but that process is fairly straightforward. Because it is fairly lightweight I got it connected to my hitch receiver without any problems, and I’m a broken-down 70 year old. It works great on the back of our Scamp travel trailer!

WAY BETTER THAN EXPECTED- STURDY &QUALITY
WAY BETTER THAN EXPECTED- STURDY &QUALITY.Quality parts- heavy duty! Worked great- I was concerned about the center hitch bar especially- but it is built right with heavy steal for the hitch- the rest is quality aluminum and very good bolts. I am impressed! Worth way more than what I paid for

Easy to assemble!
I was skeptical about the strength of the rack when we opened the box, however, once it was put together it was very sturdy. It is light enough that one person can slide it into the receiver on our Motor home if necessary.

Glad I purchased this
Well constructed. Assembly was easy with good instructions. Very light. I use it for getting gas and hauling things I don’t want in the cab of my 4 Runner. Definite value for the money.

Nice Cargo carrier
Very nice and well built carrier. I used it on a trip to Emerald Isle North Carolina. Used it with the MaxxHaul carrier bag. Worked awesome together.

Great value!!
Rack is very light and easy to mount to my truck. I have a large RTIC cooler that I load up and it handles it, no problem. Says 500 lb. capacity, but I wouldn't recommend it. I mounted Curt LED lights on mine that plug into your 4 prong adapter and it adds a lot more visibility and safety. For the price it's a great value. It also came with the hitch stabilizer bracket that bolts on which was a nice extra.

Max haul aluminum cargo carrier
I was hauling the fuel for lawn mowers in the back of my SUV. The fuel smell in my vehicle was overwhelming, even though the caps were on the containers. After much research I decided to try a cargo carrier. My grandson advised me to get the aluminum one because it is not as heavy to install or remove since I was only using it once a week. The instructions were easy to follow and I was able to put the carrier together by myself. It fit perfectly into the car hitch. The included stabilizer was easy to use, install. No more fuel smell inside my car. The carrier is sturdy, looks great and the price was great. Does not rust and exceeded my expectations when hauling fuel. Held 3 cans easily.
